If I lived in maybe Florida and added some decorative touches, it would be cute in a bedroom or outside on the "lanai" (I learned that word when I was visiting in Fl lol!)

I'm sure the cute big lizards would like it too!

Course I always thought, what happened to calling it a porch or deck?! I guess lanai sounds more elegant or something, or used in tropical settings and islands.

So lanai it is!Woman LOL

Ok whoa went off on a big east coast tangent there lol!

Going back out on my deck/aka/rocksWoman LOL

@on the bay - A lanai is actually a specific type of covered outdoor space in Hawaii, but the word was borrowed and is now used for just about any outdoor entertaining space like a deck, veranda, or large outdoor porch. It's definitely a lovely way to describe a place where you can go to relax or have some fun!  Smiley Happy

I just heard about the word malama from a story about someone in Hawaii.

I'd never heard that word and it means "take care" but also not just (take care of the land-originally) but take care of the people as wellSmiley Happy

I got to visit the beautiful Hawaii 2-3 times and went surfing for the first time. I thought it looked like living in a postcard and the ocean looked like something out of Peter Pan!

And people seemed so happy all the time and were up shopping and having fun at 3 am in the morning and everywhere we went there was aloe vera gel in the bathrooms and the locals would remind us to use sunscreen and only stay out 15 minutes.

And beautiful puca shell necklaces and bracelets all over.

I was in a parade back then and I and another were the banner bearers and after awhile it got pretty quiet and the rest of our parade was way way behind us lol!!

My soon to be husband and I saw each other after both returning from the parade at a beautiful outside restaurant during a kite show and ran into each others armsSmiley Happy and sat and had one of those umbrella drinks watching the ocean and kites-like something out of a lovely movie for sure. "Some enchanted evening"

Oh my goodness-great memories.Heart
