His name was Dan Terrico.  He carved those lovely wooden treasure boxes that QVC sells every holiday season.

Dan Hughes posted on his FB page that Carver Dan passed away roughly a year after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  Dan Hughes was a friend, and for the past 5 months was writing Carver Dan's autobiography.  

Dan said the book, Carving Your Own Path, will be released in June.

This is very sad to hear.  His was one of the few unique products sold by QVC and was enjoyed by many people who received them as gifts.

I enjoyed seeing his boxes around the holidays, they were beautiful and so unique.  Sad to hear of his passing.  RIP Dan Terrico.
