I LOVE it!  Is there a place to find this recipe?

@santorini

It's from Gaido's restaurant in Galveston, TX.

Tasty Texas Pecan Pie in Time for Holidays

PECAN CRUNCH

5 eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups pecan halves
1 1/4 cups pecan pieces

Mix eggs in bowl. Add sugar, corn syrup, vanilla and salt to eggs. Beat until light. Stir in pecan halves and pieces.

Graham Cracker Crust

1 1/2 cups graham crackers, finely ground

7 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons butter, melted

Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar and butter.

Form Graham Cracker Crust in greased 10-inch spring form pan. Build crust to 1 1/2 inches high on pan. Pour pecan pie mixture into prepared crust. Bake at 350 degrees 50 minutes. Makes 1 (10-inch) pie.

An original recipe of the Kewpie Schwerdtfeger Gaido family that dates back to the last century, the pecan pie is as much an icon of the island city as the 100-year old restaurant itself. The pie, which includes toasted pecans and a cowboy bourbon sauce, can be cleverly flipped to eliminate the crust.

No directions for the bourbon sauce or how to flip.

I love your meticulous way of eating pecan pie.

I will have to try this.

@Flatbush   I like it best when eaten frozen.  It's much too heavy and rich after a big meal though.  I would wait a couple of hours or eat it in lieu of a light meal.

@Foxxee I am from the south and have never met a pie I did not like!  Papershell pecans are a staple here and I grew up eating pecan pie and this one is almost too pretty to cut.

I can't stand pecan pie.  It is so sweet and sticky.

My mother had her own recipe, my husband learned to make it and won a cooking contest with it on a dare from my mom.
