Thanks, everyone.  The garlands are in the box ready to go back.  As I was packing them I noticed a couple of the berries had fallen off and were rolling on the carpet.  I called customer service and they were really great.  I won't have to pay shipping either way due to the condition they arrived in.  So, that is good.  However, @PinkyPetunia ~ I will be thinking twice before I order multiples of something that is so expensive.  @PA Mom-mom ~ It's disappointing, isn't it?  Like you, I have some beautiful items of Valerie's from many years ago that I pull out every Easter, Christmas, whatever the holiday may be.  They are as beautiful as the day I received them.  I'm sorry the bells you ordered weren't as you expected.  Like me, you ordered multiples and were disappointed.  I can't speak for anyone else, but I would rather pay a little more and get beautiful, quality items than (actually still pay more) and get lesser quality.  Just my two cents...

I would return them all.  We have a right to expect the items to be in good condition.  I have enough trouble with those styrofoam berries during normal use so I don't want to start out with them in shoddy condition.  Sorry this happened to you.

@homedecor1 ~ Yes, the shipping was a killer!  $16.50 for three garlands!  I admit I agreed to pay it ~ I knew the cost when I hit the submit order button.  But I was really expecting something beautiful I could display in our home all winter long.  There is a website that sells craft items as well as lots of garlands for different seasons/holidays.  I don't think I can mention the name here, though.  I've always had good luck with their items and shipping over $49 is free.  I'll bet I have something stored in the attic which will be just fine for the winter season, though.  :-)

@Julie928 Thanks, Julie 92! If my order is damaged in any way, I always ask for a full refund, including shipping. QVC usually complies. In your case, it is warrented; in my case, I guess it isn't.  I'm just disappointed with Valerie.

It sounds like they were stored in a very hot warehouse. I would send them back.

Hi Julie! Good to hear from you!

Based on what you said I would return the garlands as it sounds like a lot of time and additional money to fix the problems. I would especially worry about the airing out part. Smell is that funny thing that often sticks to the item. I had to return garlands of Valerie's before do to an unpleasant odor.

I just received Valerie's Mr & Mrs Claus and the Elves. I love all four but one elf came with a bell off that I have to glue back on and there is another bell that I have to replace on my own. These "dolls" came in plastic only. The plastic was halfway with nothing covering the feet. I thought they would be encased in styrofoam.

@Julie928 I agree that you should return them. And I can sympothize with you completely. I bought three of the door hangers with the three bells. The first I opened was  so cheap looking, I didn't even take the others out of their boxes. I have some Valerie Christmas items that are so elegant and lovely, that I was shocked by the way this looked. My struggle started with writing the review. I don't want to write a bad review if I don't have to, and I guess I could have left it alone. But, I was so crestfallen, I had to write something. My husband and I struggled with a one, two or three star - just because we didn't want to be mean. But, to tell you the truth, it should have been a one star and we gave it a two star.

@PA Mom-mom thanks for mentioning the hangers. I almost bought one but was worried about quality of the ribbon from online photos. Is it the ribbon that looked bad? The ribbon looked thin to me.

@Julie928  The ribbon was stiff and then. The bells were very cheap Lee glittered. Maybe my TV needs replacing.
