The Easter weekend is now here and will soon be gone.  I have to ask what is next for those who decorate and do events/holidays.

Here in the Los Angeles area, much is made of the 5th of May - the Cinco de Mayo.   One small town in the past in Mexico was freed from some occupying element in the past.  Much is made about the small incident.

Any excuse for a Fiesta!  It's important to Mexicans.

@Puzzle Piece  Spring stays up for a while, then summer.

I'm in Alabama and all the restaurants try to gin up excitement for Cinco deMayo but I don't think it goes over very well.    We have a large hispanic community & they enjoy it.   We are more into BBQ and outside activities.   My friends and I keep the Mexican restaurants in business all throughout the year, so its just another day to us!!

Our next big day will be Memorial Day.   It's the "official" start of summer.   All schools are out by then, all the pools & splash parks are open full time.

Most all events and holidays and International days of note are excuses to booze it up and over eat here.

We don't participate but many do.  It's all just for business.  When there's a lull, off to Vegas or other casinos are the remedy.

I'll take my Easter stuff down outside, but I want to keep the decor in my house through April!  Outside, I will do something for in white for Summer and then red, white, & blue for 4th of July!
