Re: What is the 'best' Christmas music?

The Carpenters made a wonderful double album of Christmas music.  Next I like Josh Groban, Johnny Mathis, Nat King Cole.

My favorites include:

Charlie Brown Christmas (Vince Guaraldi)

Barbra Streisand: A Christmas Album

Johnny Mathis Christmas Album

Nat King Cole Christmas Album

Russian Christmas Carols

QVC plays an ambient Jazz album between it's segments called "Twelve Days" which is great for relaxing by the tree or fireplace.

Re: What is the 'best' Christmas music?

Hands down, I have three that I consider essential:  Mel Torme's Christmas album, A Charlie Brown Christmas (Vince Guraldi Trio), and Duke Ellington's Nutcracker Suite.

Soon I will tune Pandora to Christmas music and have it on non-stop.

Re: What is the 'best' Christmas music?

Just found the Sting one. It is called "If on a Winter's Night". And then by accident I found "Street Carols"which is mix of many groups. "You're my Christmas Present"--very romantic. Just remembered Darlene Love and "Baby, please come home". It is played as an intro piece in "Gremlins". Altho I think it is in the Phil Specter Christmas album.

Re: What is the 'best' Christmas music?

I love the oldies as well during the holidays. Nothing like Bing Cosby singing to me! There is an oldie radio station that starts playing Holiday music before Thanksgiving until Christmas. I enjoy listening in my car and I sing along. I have many CDs I listen to as I decorate and throughout the holidays.
