Hot chocolate and a punch that my neighbor makes with peppermint candy. I don't think it tastes like any peppermint eggnog I ever had.  It's not that thick sweet taste.  I think I found it.

Two jars (12 ounces each) strawberry jelly, 2 liters lemon-lime soda (divided), 2 quarts peppermint stick ice cream, miniature candy canes (optional).  Melt jelly in 2 cups soda in large saucepan, chill jelly mixture and remaining soda.  Just before serving, place 6 cups ice cream in punch bowl, stir in jelly mixture, add rest of soda.  Add rest of ice cream.  Garnish with candy canes.

Same here.  Coffee.   I don't consider cider or hot choc a holiday drink. As for egg not, don't like it.  I made it from scratch one year ... thought I would like it.  Nope.

For Christmas Eve dinner drink, we serve sparkling cider from Costco. When daughter's in town she and I like her Sangria with white wine. Hot chocolate is also an option.
