I hadn't noticed (not watching toy shows anymore) that they weren't here this year.
Too bad! I wonder if they just weren't selling well anymore.

They might be like other collectible items a thing of the past. I haven't seen any at all.

I remember going to a little shop in Shreveport, La. and seeing some of the earlier Cabbage Patch dolls. These had fabric bodies and faces and beautiful clothes. They were having an adoption while I was in the shop. A little girl was so happy to get her doll. The price was way over a hundred dollars and that was in the early 80's, as I recall.

I thought that fad was over and done with many years ago.

I remember the authentic Cabbage Patch dolls, my two girls had them. That was when they came from the Cabbage Patch hospital and they came with birth certificates that you registered. Their godmother bought or I should say "adopted" them for my girls in Atlanta. They were $$$ and the baby stuff that you bought for them was $$$ too. That was in the mid 80's and we couldn't never have afforded them. But....that is what godmothers are for.

My girls had them in the 80's, when they were really hard to find, they were selling out everywhere, but we managed to get them some. Anyway I want to purchase one for my granddaughter, and I am too having a tough time finding them. Someone did tell me to keep checking with Toys R Us, as they get them in periodically, and they sell out super fast.......

@chrystaltree Now those were beautiful dolls with the hand sculpting on face and body. I couldn't afford to buy one along with the wardrobe so I just walked away. I've never been tempted by the newer ones, even though they are cute.
Did your girls keep their dolls?

They do, I kept them for them and I kept whatever was left of the clothes and I wrapped them and boxed them, I think I had in mind that those things could be passed down to their own girls, when the time comes. When we sold our house and downsized, I gave each girl her box along with a box of Beanie Babies that I could never bare to part with. I'm ashamed to say how obsessed we were that Beanie Baby craze...lol
