I love black cats - all cats. But I'm against Halloween decorations featuring black cats. There are too many cruel people who dislike them and especially at Halloween.

Thanks for the alert @beach-mom, I missed seeing them. I decorate with black cats, friendly ghosts & jack o lanterns. I paid my Spring property taxes today so I can't bring myself to spend another penny but they're so darn sweet & perfect for my Halloween decor.

I decorate using a "cute" Halloween theme. When DS was turning 13 he saw a Department 56 Halloween house he liked. His birthday is right before Halloween, so DH and I bought it for him.

He always had a Halloween party instead of a birthday party once he hit middle school. The kids dressed up and it wasn't really a birthday party so they didn't bring gifts, which made me happy! We got him a Department 56 building every year, until after his freshman year of college.

My one rule was nothing like skeletons or coffins or anything like that, including on the buildings.

As a cat lover I started buying cute Halloween cats. One year Yankee had candle hangers and other accessories. I went to a lot of stores to get what I wanted!

We have a black DLH cat, and we had a black Persian in the past, both rescues. Here is our sweet boy, one of 5! LOL!
