Re: Things you LIKE in Valerie Parr Hill's shows Today

@LizzieInSRQ   I still read here, and, of course, still shop--quite a bit--here but I don't post as often.

I have been quite busy and involved with my five grandchildren.  My daughter aand son-in-law's four children, one girl, and my son's almost three year old boy.  He and my lovely daughter-in-law jus moved into a new home and are expecting a second boy in early September.

Hope all is well with you.  I have been watching and enjoying the Christmas in July presenations today.

Best,

Re: Things you LIKE in Valerie Parr Hill's shows Today

thoughts on the black and white harlequin spheres? I ordered them and I see they are in advanced order and can be cancelled still I think .  I'm just not sure now after sleeping on it .  I wish they did a presentation on them so I could see them close up.  That seems to happen all the time , something I'm interested in being presented and it isn't .  Just like the glass Angel .....

@KittyGalore. I looked under Items recently on air and looks like the spheres were presented in Valerie's 7:0O p.m. show. I was hoping for a video since I ordered the black/white also without seeing a presentation. Black is sold out, at least for now, so I don't want to cancel. Hopefully we will love them when received.

@yellowrose   I did actually watch the 7 pm show and there wasn't an actual presentation it was just shown from afar .  The red and silver was held up briefly because it was the only choice left .    I see it is sold out so I guess I will keep and not cancel and hopefully yes, we will both love them!

Re:  Harlequin spheres

I didn't see any formal presentation, either.   The multi-colored ones were shown in front of the 20" and 16" green mercury glass trees and the green unbreakable ball garland when they were takling about the glass trees.   Spheres effective with the green colors and some gold, but they never picked up the spheres or showed what they looked like illuminated, so you couldn't get much of an idea how intense the lights were.    I did manage to buy a set of the multicolored, as they were so different than most everything Valerie has out there, which were pretty much in a carefully coordinated palette.   I think the multi-colored might be better for fall and Halloween decorating.

Neither did I see one on the black & white spheres.   She did briefly hold up the red & white ones but, again, no shots with the lights dimmed to see if the lit and unlit images were a lot different.

The green mercury glass trees looked a bit scary.  Don't really want to have to worry about a $90 breakable glass piece.

I didn't get a chance to watch but I am going to check out the Items Recently on Air.

Always enjoy Valerie's items but I'm surely hoping for something a bit different this year.

I love the Swirling Snow H464360 trees and ordered two sets. Last year I bought five sets of the Starry Night trees which are similar but I like this year's design better. The trees are so unique and are sleek enough to be more "modern" and not cheesy/cutesy.

I totally agree!

I have years worth of decor that I always put out mostly the same way, some old light-up snowmen that my kids loved.  But now that they both are adults I am feeling that I want to change things up a bit to not be so cutesy? Someday when grandkids come I can dig it out again but for now I'm desiring a more elegant look and these trees really fit that look.

I bought the set of three clear glass candle holders as a gift.  Then two round mosaic lights for our 3 season room, ending with two little sleighs.  One to keep, one to give away.

The little classic books are very sweet and charming, but I have no place for fhem.  I have noticed on Etsy that they offer some replicas of various classic books made into small handbags.  I will show them to my GD, to see if she is interested.
