I saw some beautiful cardinal ribbon online at Etsy and other places.  Doesn't have to be just like @pattypeep, other will work well too.  Just be sure to get the 2 1/2 " wired kind, easier to tie and holds up well, can be fluffed even if the bow is flattened.
