I know. I complain about this every year. I understand *why* they do this but I don't get into Christmas until after Thanksgiving. By the time I'm ready to enjoy the holiday, QVC is done.
By the time the actual season gets here, QVC has presented so much x-mas stuff, they are Christmased out and as it gets closer and closer, it's like it's already over on QVC. By the day after x-mas, the set decor is pretty much gone and they are gearing up for the gardening shows.

On Jill's Facebook page she did a sneak peak of tonight's show last night. She showed the Lolita wine glasses in 3 holiday designs; the happy box and the Joan rivers faberge heart ornaments that she said she cultivated on her own in design. I am not interested in any of these items. I may not watch tonight but just see what she presented. She promises we will be pleased. Yeah not holding my breath on that.

I agree! And I think that holiday decor is so much "bigger" now than ever before.
When I was a child and a young adult, I knew not a single person who had the quantity of decor most of us here have. It was pretty much a couple of boxes coming down from the attic or up from the basement. All the kids I grew up with had a decorated tree, and maybe a handful of other 'sit abouts' that were used year after year.
It was only the 'very rich' in our area that decorated like many of us here do now (and I didn't exactly grow up poor, most of the families I grew up with had at least a dad who was a professional of some type, and many were two income families).
Decorating for the holiday now, for so many people, is a huge undertaking, and most people feel if they are going to go to the trouble, they are going to have it up for awhile (as well as they love doing it and enjoying it, of course).
Back in the day, @RazorSharp, whether we were using a real tree or an artificial (if varied), my mom didn't want it up before about mid December either, and then there was just that couple of boxes of decor. There was definitely something about the anticipation and the short season that really made it stand out and special. I have to admit that while I love my decor and the look of my home when it is done, I do kind of get nostalgic about how truly special that short season was back then.
@Mominohio Have you set up all your BL stuff yet?

@Mominohio @RazorSharp This is so true. We had a tree, and my Mother always put a bunch of fresh greens on either end of the mantle corners with a huge red bow on each. Christmas cards would hang on strings on the walls, and some items placed here and there. When I first set up housekeeping, I would decorate similarly, but as the years went by, my Christmas decor became larger and larger and now, I could open a boutique, lol.

A new Home Goods just opened next town to me, 60% of the store is Christmas stuff, of which I have no interest.
So if you want Christmas stuff there is plently out there,Kohls has it on sale this weekend
Remember when it only went on sale day after

@Mominohio Have you set up all your BL stuff yet?
We have had such unseasonably warm weather, I have been able to get all the swags in the windows, the outside wreaths on the doors, and the stake trees into urns at the garage door. (just got them painted black to match the lights and shutters on the house yesterday). I also did a wreath, tree and swag on the front porch.
I have a couple of garlands that I'm contemplating putting on the white picket fence, and really should have explored that today, but just didn't get it done (it was so warm and windy, I took the time to hang laundry outside, and mow grass again instead!!) Valerie's candles are in the windows as well, and when everything is lit, it is just beautiful.
I still want to find something to 'decorate' the greens with. I'm dragging my feet, as I don't want anything expensive, and thinking about hitting Dollar Tree for ornaments, just a few per item, to pop some color to the look.
I will say, the investment in batteries may drive me to find a part time job!!
I have two wreaths for inside my entry doors as well as a swag for either the dining table or somewhere in the living room, and I have chosen picks for those (to match the Christmas tree ones), but haven't started any inside decorating yet.
Thanks for remembering. I've been really excited to get those outside things done, before it gets really cold!

@Mominohio, @mousiegirl I've started putting some stuff up. I just finished putting my white bay leaf garlands and wreath on my fireplace, and I'm really pleased with the result. I'm going to fluff the tree next. Tomorrow will be a big day of hauling those big boxes up from downstairs (nightmare), and I'd love to be in a position to be done and cleaned up by Sunday night.
If anyone likes bay leaf picks, I followed one of the reviewer's advice and bought H211093 in white, and pulled the individual picks off the garland (they tore right off). Since I already am using 4 of the white garlands, I wanted to use these picks as accents in my decor. I got a total of 23 picks from one garland! They're small, but they're just right for tucking into smaller spaces. I took a pic:

@RazorSharp That's what I did with the picks, because unless they are going into a tree, they are too long. I even remove individual leaves from an entire Fall garland of Valerie's to tuck in here and there.

Great idea to pull apart garlands for picks and smaller uses, Usually much more cost effective, and I've done it once myself.
I really like the bay leaf line, but didn't purchase any. I have more garlands that get used, so I thought I'd better forgo them.
