I know several people here are having some trouble with orders processing and shipping, with backorders and things bouncing in and out of availability (sorry, know about it but not following that closely!). It lead me to recall that we are getting to the time of year where shipping (in my experience) is a bit different that Q's normal.

In past years, about October, Q starts to ship things out much quicker. There is less time (sometimes virtually no time) to change your mind and cancel an item. It's like they ramp up to 'holiday' mode and things move much quicker in the process. Sometimes they just sit after being marked 'shipped', but the fact remains that you can't change the order in a very short time.

And in my experience, December shopping with Q is simply done in an act of faith. That late in the game, I often get the wrong item (invoice has all the correct information, just the wrong product or the wrong size/color etc has been pulled and shipped) with no time to correct it or no product left to get the correct item.

And those last couple of days where they guarantee delivery before Christmas.....lets just say there are a ton of complaints on these boards after the holiday from people who didn't get them on time.

So just wanted to offer a heads up, as we are seeing more newer (to me anyway) posters in this forum, who may not have dealt with a holiday shipping schedule and the Q before.

I know I have learned my lessons over the years with holiday buying from Q and for anything that really matters, I order early, so I don't have the problem of wrong items, and I try to be sure before I hit the submit button, as changes (even changing payment methods) can get locked out quicker than the rest of the year.

@Mominohio  That's very good advice.  I'm having problems in  July-August and it gets so much worse as it gets closer to the holidays.
