@Chopsmom I was imagining several Santas running a race by the title!  LOL!

They have something similar to what you describe each year in my community.  It's usually the weekend after Thanksgiving weekend.  Santa sits on a firetruck and with the sirens going stops to give out candy canes to the kids...or the other firemen do since Santa is sitting up on top of the truck!

I think it's a nice tradition.

@ValuSkr I'm in PA too and we also have Santa come around each year on the firetruck giving out candy canes.  I never saw this when we lived in NJ.

I'm in Pa, too, so thanks for the remnder. Today is the day. Parents can register their kids to receive a toy. They take it to the fire house prior to the event then when Santa comes down their street, they are given the toy the parents purchased. Scares the heck out of my cats as the horns and sirens are going full tilt.

Sounds like most of us who have the visits from Santa on the fire truck are from PA. 😁

@haddon9  Funny you mentioned the running of the Santa's . The annual Running of the Santa's (bar crawl) in Philly is today (12/17). There is also one in Seaside Heights NJ today. 🎄🎅

@haddon9 - Our town in NJ has done this for years. Kids got so excited - waving, jumping up and down - a great tradition.

Not only does Santa and his helpers do wonderful acts of kindness riding through neighborhoods each year, please goggle how Mrs. Claus saved a life in Virginia this year after an evening of spreading joy with Santa and the elves.
