Question about fan noise in glitter lantern by Valerie

I bought the cardinal glitter lantern that was a TSV not too long ago. I've been testing it out to be sure it works and have discovered a slight noise being produced by the fan. As this is the first item I've bought of this nature made by Valerie, I don't know if this is normal or not. I'm worried that the noise might mean that, as time goes by, it may stop working. To those of you who own these lanterns, do you also hear noises from the fan or does it run silently? Thanks.

@qualityshopper   I purchased 3 of these lanterns last year.  Within a couple weeks of using them...they quit working.  I could hear the fan buzzing before they died.  Would not recommend buying them.

Re: Question about fan noise in glitter lantern by Valerie

Have 2 of those lanterns, one makes the noise and one does not.  I asked Val on her facebook page and she said it was nothing to worry about.  It's the cardinal one that cannot be replaced that makes the noise.  I felt better after I heard from her yesterday but now I am not so sure.  I also spoke to a personal friend of mine that has these lanterns and she said some of them make the noise and some don't and her work fine.  All I can say is I am keeping my paperwork.  I will be so upset if I have to return this but fortunately we have until January 31 to do so.

Re: Question about fan noise in glitter lantern by Valerie

So many of these battery operated products are just pure junk.......Yes even Valerie's.

I am always skeptical about it, even the battery candles stop working after a short time.

I stopped purchasing these types of things.  I do have some nice lanterns but have learned to buy the ones where the candles can be swapped out and started replacing with less expensive ones.   IMO, the Luminara's hefty price doesn't make it work any better than what you can purchase at the craft store.

@LindaSal Agree - fan has to be small to fit the product and they are cheap.

I have been testing my nativity one for about a week and have not noticed any noise yet. I was hoping the battery ones would be better then the electric kaleidoscope trees (no longer sold) that so many, including myself, have had problems with noise issues with the last couple years. Going to donate my kaleidoscope trees as soon as I get them out of storage this fall.

This makes me think of the VPH kalidescope trees...talk about a mess!

They started "squeaking" and the longer they were on the "louder and squeakier (is that a word🙄) ...I sent back as defective several times.

Finally, gave up☹️ If it's loud now that doesn't seem promising it will go away.  Sorry, Valerie should have been honest.

All I know is something like that would drive me crazy😳 I'd return it and keep checking for stock.

Thanks all for responding. Guess I'll just keep turning it on every day and see how it does. Since we have until Jan. 31 to return it, I'm hoping any problems will show up before then so I can return it if necessary. Who knows, it might work just fine. Time will tell.
