I hate throwing out my beloved Harvest and Halloween decorations.  I know I need to .... but I just can't convince myself to get rid of them.  And then, of course, I buy new ones every year.

But .... my problem has been solved.

I got a new puppy this spring.

He has managed to get ahold of wreaths, picks, and garlands, owls, and pumpkins.

Every time he destroys something, I move everything up higher.

Every week he grows taller, and can grab something else.

But I've decided to look at the bright side.  Not only do I have an adorable puppy, I have now managed  to declutter without having to make a single decision.

You have a best friend who will offer unconditional love and acceptance all of his life.  That's quite a gift.

This is what has happened to me except it is my 2 cats. The girl cat has always been a chewer. I can't have anything that she can reach or she will chew on it. I am afraid that she will get something in her throat and choke. So I have found places up high that she cannot reach. Fall decor is my weakness. Every year I purchase new decorations and then I have to sort through the old stuff and get rid of what I no longer use. It's hard because I hate to get rid of things that I collected over the years but I have been gradually doing it.

This year I am going to have a major sorting out and cutting down on Christmas items.

@juanitalinda When I was a kid our cats used to climb the Christmas tree and sent all the glass ornaments crashing to the floor.

So putting the Christmas decorations was easier and quicker after Christmas. Then my Dad bought a heavy duty cast iron Christmas stand. Suddenly no more crashing trees.

Animals in their way kept us from hoarding Christmas decorations.

Me too! I'm not happy about it, a cat did the damage, damage you just want to throw away. Then I decided to see what can be salvaged and toss the rest. It was my fault the storange container was open.

@juanitalinda   well that sure works well !   Maybe I need to let my kitties thin out all my decorations lol 😂.  I can't seem to part with any Christmas decor especially!
