Opinions needed for Mr Christmas ceramic tree...

[ Edited ]

Glad to see it is electric so the lights are brighter...just on the fence for the white one...H211560...

I just missed the presentation...darn! The video is not available..not yet anyway...phooey!

I also don't find some of Mr Christmas pieces have really good quality either and trying to avoid returning it.

@Susan Louise  I bought them last year and they worked perfectly fine, and I just bought the white.

@Susan Louise

I agree that Mr. Christmas items are no longer quality products much of the time. The have become the poster child for made in China in my mind.

I would recommend getting a vintage one from ebay or from a local thrift or antique type shop. They have much better coloring in the paints as they were individually made, and lots of different shades of green and whites to choose from.

The older ones have so many replacement bulbs and other things (like birds) that can be put in them, where most of the new ones have the bulbs glued in and they cannot be removed or changed.

I have two vintage ones, one that was made for me and is simply stunning, with the greenware that was used having such great 'pine needle' details and the most beautiful true Christmas tree green (actually has various shades) color used on it.

The other was a gift from my son years ago, done in a white pearl finish.

Both are so far above these new ones they have been showing here for the last few years, in style and detail and beautiful coloring. One of mine even has a music box attached.

I'd highly recommend looking at the vintage ones, and waiting till just the right one catches your attention. It may time some time, but some women who made these in the past were really talented, and they are so much more beautiful than these new ones.

@mousiegirl   Thanks!...SOLD!!! And I see QVC finally posted the video. Sometimes the tech team forgets to post videos...glad they finally did! The trees look GREAT!

Yep, I ordered the white one too. I already have a green ceramic tree my aunt made me in the mid 1980's...so I'm all set now Smiley Happy

I just ordered the white one.  I bought the 14 inch white ceramic tree last year, because it reminded me of the one my mother (now deceased) had.  I watched the presentation - and thought both the green and the white were beautiful, and substantial.  The one I bought last year still works with the original batteries in it.  I like that this one has an electrical cord.

I liked them.  I was partial to the green.  Plenty of time to test it out and return.  I think things with plugs do okay.

@Mominohio ~ I love the vintage ones, too!  I own two of them as well ~ one green with snowy tips, the other a pearlized white.  I keep the pearly one out all year since it came with both the regular bulbs and birds!  Of course, the birds are on it year-round.

@MalteseMomma  Thanks for the suggestion. I did check the trees out at that site and wasn't impressed. They looked like the Mr Christmas trees that was offered on the Q last year. IMO, the lights just weren't bright enough for me and I didn't like the 4 hr timer...prefer 6 hr timers for B/O decor. I also like the plug in - electric better. The lights can be seen from across a room.

Again, thanks for your suggestion Smiley Happy
