The decorations that scream "CHRISTMAS" are sitting on our kitchen table. I'll put them away this week. Some twinkling items with white lights can remain out all month. The multicolored tree in our rec room is down, but the living room tree is still up. The white lights on it makes the room so cheerful. We had two inches of puffy snow today. After our brown Christmas, the snow made me think of typical Christmases in the upper Midwest. Might as well enjoy the tree for another week.

Nope, not yet. I have an artificial tree so No rush.
I keep it up for Epiphany.
I figured on taking it down the day after but Lo and Behold the first snow of the season is today so the Tree and the Nativity are both glowing.

Yes-I hear you and agree. We got all of our Christmas decor boxed up and stashed in the attic. The exception is the Snow Baby collection I "inherited" when my Mom passed. I am not a knick-knack sort but Mom loved this collection and added to it each year. I display it in a lit hutch in our kitchen. It goes down after Valentine's Day. I convince myself it is WInter decor, not Christmas!

Yes I feel the same way as well!
I have a section of cabinets in my kitchen with glass doors. I keep pretty decorative dishes in them. My DH had given me a set of very cute Christmas dishes before we had kids.
So for the holidays I switch out the dishes and put them behind the glass doors (the glass doored cabinets also light up) and they make a cute display.
However I was sick of them before New Years and switched them back a few days after Christmas. I also had some gingerbread houses up in the kitchen & took them down as well then.
My son in law commented on those Christmas dishes and I told him that I hope he & my daughter would love to have them someday in the not too distant future....they have a baby and hope to have another soon. Kids would love these dishes since it has Santa, dogs and just some really cute images.....hope they take me up on the offer!
I took down the ornaments on the tree. DH is supposed to take the tree down & put it away today.
I am so done with all of the decorations....I do have some snowmen that I keep up for the winter.

I decorate every room in my house the weekend after Thanksgiving, however I want it down AT LEAST by New Year's Day. My kids remember as kids waking up the day after Christmas and there not being a hint of Christmas.

I only decorate the mantle over the fireplace in my tiny apartment-----so it was easy to take it down. I did leave up the items that are strictly winter time themed tho. Took the red away as well as the glizty stuff.

I leave my decorations up all winter. The winter is so dark and drab and the decor and light helps get me thru the winter. Most of mine, other than the nativity, is winter anyway, so it doesn't matter. I have angels and that can go all year, too.

I took mine down Christmas Day. It had been up since the day before Thanksgiving and I was ready for it to be taken down and put away. I didn't have anything going on that day except for lunch with family.

@ciao_bella wrote:As much as I've always loved decorating for Christmas and still do, I'm anxious to get it all down and put away. Usually, I do this sometime in the middle of January, but this year it's getting on my nerves seeing it up. Can't explain it or why I feel this way, especially this year, but I do. Hope I'm not turning into a curmudgeon. Anyone else feel the same?
@ciao_bella Honestly, for us we haven't put out most things in the last 10 or 12 years and don't miss them. We gave gotten most of the garland and wreaths we used to put out, still have a huge white Nativity Set from Lenox that we store, some dishes we've not used in years but have attic space and at this point not worried about not using it.
The huge tree in the front window is put up, taken down and stores by someone else, and that's enough. We just don't feel the need or hassle for it any more.

I generally take everything down on Jan 7 but this year, I took it all down a few days earlier. It just felt like it was time to say goodbye to Christmas 2023.
