Re: Many people say they will decorate heavily for holidays this year.....

[ Edited ]

I'm not planning a big holiday nor am I planning to decorate heavily or early. All the decoration in the world won't negate the realities this year has imposed on all of us. Besides, the decorations will still just have to be taken down and put away. I'll decide on decorations in November but I'm in no hurry for Christmas. Frankly, I don't see it providing the lift some seem to think it will, especially for those folks who have, for a variety of reasons, moved away from the concept of Christmas being a huge event.

Not sure yet what I am going to do ... a lot going on this fall ....first I need

to drive from Upstate New York back to Florida .. Oh but the fall weather

has been glorious and I just love it ....\

We had an exterminator in our attic before we left and he put his foot

through my living room ceiling ....the house is open concept ..so basically

its the whole living area .. so facing dry wall work ... Oh that's my favorite !!!

Re-painting etc.

Hubby is not happy with his hip replacement and wants to have it re-done ...

so that will take up most of my time ....

So as another posted said .. I'll see how I feel about things Thanksgiving

weekend .... Oh yea .. after I get that turkey dinner done !!!!!

Re: Many people say they will decorate heavily for holidays this year.....

  • I am looking forward to decorating for the holidays. I put up a tree in the living room that I decorate with Joan River's egg ornaments and I put up a smaller tree in the den. The only new piece of decor I ordered this year was VPH's truck in ivory. I will not be doing any shopping in stores. As long as I am physically able to decorate I will do so. I will not be having any guests this holiday season due to the pandemic. My nature is to stay happy and positive and to enjoy every day.

@Big Joanie  do you use it to decorate for other seasons? I currently have mine on the dining room table decorated for fall and am really enjoying it.

@Big Joanie    Is your DH's hip replacement considered a failure?  Having had one, I have never heard of a redo unless the replacement came loose.

I am not planning on decorating heavily this year, nothing extodinary.   I have been purging and I purchased 2 new items.  I have to be careful of storage.

As to when, it changes every year depending on what is happening in my life.  I have decorsated as early as Nov. 1 and as late as December 22.  I have no set plans.

He had a fall .... the Dr. recommended just a partial repalcement ... just the

metal ball into the hip joint ....the Dr. said after the surgery that the cartilgege

was thin around the joint ... he is not really in any pain per say ... he feels

it is uncomfortable .....We will see what Dr. says at his next visit ...
