Mackenzie-Childs "as is" tea kettle

I really loved the "Deck The Halls" tea kettle, but even the small one, at almost $150, I just couldn't pull the trigger.  So I kept checking to see if one showed up in "as is", and took a chance on it when one did.  It came today, and it is just simply perfect!  Even DH the Scrooge remarked on how pretty the kettle is.  I didn't need another tea kettle, I have a LeCrueset 3qt in my color, but this one just positively oozes Christmas, and right now, I guess I need a little Christmas!

I bought several pieces when they were on Shop HQ, and I had some very good discounts and free shipping.

Yes, I agree their colors and designs are fabulous, and the  tea pots also boil water quite well!

Enjoy your purchase!

Enjoy your new tea kettle! I have a few pieces in "Deck the Halls" pattern. It is so festive and colorful. The kettle will look so pretty on your stove or wherever you choose to display it. Smiley Happy

MC is so expensive, but so beautiful...I love the tea kettles, though I don't need a new one or anything of hers, I've always admired her things, and it's definitely my vibe...if not overdone but mixed in with things. Maybe one day there'll be something of hers I "have to have."

Don't her designs remind you of illustrator Mary Englebright?

A few years ago a friend and I were in a lovely gift/antique shop here in CT that carried a big selection of MC and they had it merchandised so beautifully...it was SO tempting...but I didn't buy anything.

Enjoy that new teapot~I'm sure it's lovely!

I agree that it fits in with Mary Engelbreit. I saw the MC enamelware dishes in a store and was surprised by the weight. Heavier than I expected which was good. Very sturdy.

Just for clarification, there is no "she". Mackenzie-Childs is not a person but rather a company with a creative team.

She has some nice pieces. I don't have any use for stuff like this. Not practical for me. It's a waste of money IMO.

@CamilleP

Nice find!

I love buying "as is" such good savings and I've always had good luck because the items always seem like they're brand new....

@amyb   Thank you, I also see some "Mary Engelbright" in the MC designs.  Since I used to have Scotties, I have a bunch of Mary Engelbright pieces, including a tea service, and were I to host a tea party (not likely at all, but...) this kettle would be part of the prep, it doesn't match so much as coordinate.

Thanks to everybody, it seems this line makes lots of us smile.   I am glad the Q brought it in, even though many pieces are a considered purchase.
