Re: MY JIM SHORE CATS READY FOR CHRISTMAS

They are so cute.

I have some Jim Shore pieces that I put away for Christmas. Never thought of dressing them up for the holidays. Such a cute , clever idea!.

Re: MY JIM SHORE CATS READY FOR CHRISTMAS

@lucymo  Can you believe it, DH misplaced the large box with the gift bags in it which I save from year to year, adding once in a while?  It's a good thing I bought some burlap and velvet Santa sack/bags from zulily, because now I will have to just put her gifts into them, but have a few small bags I found and I can wrap a few, but I have gotten so spoiled by the gift bags, I don't want to go back to wrapping everything with paper, but I always wrap some.

I am still finishing up and decorating, another week, I think, crazy that it takes so long.  Last night at 10:00, I gave up and went to bed as my legs were killing me lol, and was back at it this morning.  All I have left to do, beside the huge mess to clean up, are the coffee table and the dining room table, but there is a lot of mess.

@mousiegirl  DH is misplacing too many things.  lol.  Did you find the box that was missing a week or so ago?  I'm all done, just quit, decorating except putting some light strings in place.  I have a bed that's covered in lights that I put batteries in and checking timers.  I went into the room tonight when I got home and it looked like a lit up quilt with patterns.  This year is crazy for me.

You better be careful and not over do or I'll have to fly out there and finish your decorating.  You know no one could do it like you want it done.  LOL.  We have this idea in our heads and no one else can do it. Take care and pace yourself.

I have to make candy and cookies next week for some get togethers.  I send some to the coffee buddies of DH and other places.  I guess DD will do your last minute baking. Mine don't do much baking, just come and get what I make.  Smiley Happy

@mousiegirl  I had a few picks left over from the roof top pick arrangement so used them here . LOL.  I know you love large ones.  This one didn't show all of the picks from this angle but anyway, you can see some of them.  I picked up the branches on the creek bank and painted them white. In person you can see more snow.

@lucymo  Fantastic!  This would look wonderful in my woodsy scene. Smiley Happy  I love that you gathered then painted some branches, I havn't gotten as far as painting, but I am thinking pf pinecones at some point, in fall colors,. already have natural, silver and frosted, the latter two I bought here, Lisa's, the first I grow, lol, or my pine tree does.

You would have gotten a kick out of what I did recently with picks.  I received two picks yesterday, each with two pomegranates on them, and I immediately snipped off the fruit, to be used in a fruit arrangement, and will save the stems for stem extenders.  I have disassembled three garlands and a few Pier1 picks to tuck and/or scatter.

My scatterbrain DD missed her flight today, so I am waiting for her to arrive here at 8:45, DH will take the train from work to the station, get his car, and have to drive back north to the airport, not a happy camper is he, but it worked out fine for me as I am still puttering, slight interruption in that I had to take the pups for their monthly nail trim, was going to do that on the way back from the airport.  I bathed them last night, so had to take them today while they are clean, don't want the groomer telling me my dogs are dirty, lol..

@lucymo  Yes, I found the box, it was in the rec room, apparently I told him to pull it from the shelf the day I found it, then never saw it in the rec room.

Your candy making always sounds so good.

I am determined to make sea salt caramels this year, say I will every year, then don't.  DD can make the usual cookies, and pick any other that she wants, I only have a ton of Christmas magazines full of nothing but recipes , not to mention the hard backs, another obsession of mine, cookbooks/collecting recipes, then I don';t use them, except the dessert, as I make up my recipes every day, I need my head examined, LOL.

I bought the Harry and David box of truffles, one for DD and one for the house, so I tasted one and it is delicious.  I usually don't like any chocolate but See's milk chocolate, but these truffles are so good and velvety, three flavors peppermint, I will keep those for me, then milk and dark chocolate, those for the two chocoholics in this family.
