Regarding battery life, I put Duracell in the Luminara lanterns I bought in January and have only used the remote, and hardly at all, and I just tested them and they are still lighting.  So in this case, leaving the lanterns in the on position and using the remote, has worked.

Maybe the size of batteries makea a difference, but as I mentioned before, as soon as I receive the TSV, I will test, both in the on using the remote, and using the timer.

@mousiegirl, Perhaps it would be a good idea (so that we can all learn from it) to leave your lantern on for a good while, to see if it will continue to work.  I say that because sometimes I've had candles get weak and start blinking, so I turn them off.  Then a few days later, I'll turn them back on, and they'll flicker correctly again, but not for over a few hours, and they're back to blinking again.  It's kind of like a mini-recharge they get, but it doesn't last long.  Hope that makes sense to you.

@SHOPR  When my candles blink, I know it it time to replace batteries.  I must have great batteries, because so far, all of them, all brands of flameless, last at least four months, and usually over.  Also, Valerie's mosaic columns I also use only remote, and they are still going.

I will post after my test.

Thanks @mousiegirl.  Maybe having the switch always on for the remote use is not an across the board battery drain issue.

@lucymo, I have the below in both 5" & 7" as well as the beautiful mercury glass set.  I had to order the cream you showed.  I highly recommend this concept.

@lucymo

I ordered these in both sizes, in gold and ivory.

I thought they were new this weekend, so unless someone could get them elsewhere, I doubt anyone will have one quite yet.

I have high hopes for these, and they are very big and thick. I have the MG looking ones Luminara did a couple of years ago, and love them. Look so real, because you don't see the flame at all.People swear it is a real candle burning!

@BornToShop  Thank you.  I have three of the MG ones and two of the shorter ones in clear glass.  They are saying this frosted glass is new and available in 6"&8".  I want but I wonder if the frost is done well as I've seen some that isn't. I'm really thinking of getting two 6" to use in bookcases.  Hope you love yours and I know you will.  I agree with you, this is a great concept, really more realistic than the wax candles.

@MominohioYou are correct, these are new.  @BornToShop has the clear and MG ones as do I.   I think the gold will be great for our harvest decorating and of course the ivory works any time and everywhere. I want them too so might as well bite the bullet and order. Smiley Happy

I bought 2 sets in red on auto as I want the pumpkins and have another set in red on auto as a waitlist. I'm thinking of dividing both Xmas and Harvest up as gifts and keeping some for myself for the tree but also for around the house (bathrooms, bedrooms, little places that this would add a touch of holiday to).

Regarding battery life: I purchase the Jack-o-Lantern candles at Walmart for $3 for 6; you use them in your pumpkins instead of candles. Those things look like real candles and last a LONG time but....no timer. I have the Luminara single candles in brass holders for all my windows during the holidays; they're in the windows from Black Friday till January 8th or so and the batteries last 3 years before needing to be replaced (all on timers, no remotes used).

I don't see the purpose of the remotes unless you want them on all the time (say Xmas Eve till the 26). In that case, I'll just use the Jack o Lantern tea lights as they will run 5 days minimum without issue.

@Mominohio

@BornToShop, I am tempted by the 6" Ivory candle.

I keep having to remind myself that I do not need these.  I think they have the potential to be the perfect candle to use in so many ways.

I'm not sure I like the gold choice.  It may look better in person, but looks a bit mustard on my screen.

I've seen the mercury glass pillars in action since I gave them as gifts two years ago.  The flicker from within the glass is beautiful, I agree.

The price is a big factor for me.  No BMSM or reduced shipping on multiples.  Frustrating.

@SHOPR

I think the ivory is a no brainer in these, so rich and elegant, and I can see these with some of the candle rings I have, and know that was a good choice.

I'm wondering about the gold a little bit too. In the pictures and video, when they place it against green, it looks a bit like mustard color, which would be ok for fall especially for me (I think). In other shots, it looks like a really rich gold.

And if it is like other things, there is probably a variation among the shades because of production runs. Just hope both sizes have the same shade!

I'll be posting a review. Only one set has shipped so far.

Yes, Hudson lantern candles eat batteries.  Short life expectancy.
