@Marsha2003, Any chance you could snap a pic of the orange Luminaras from BB&B that you just put out?  I'm curious to see their real life color.  Are yours the slimmer 3" width as I'm seeing currently on BB&B website?  The 4 inch tall ones are a good price.   I'm tempted and really, really shouldn't be asking this.  LOL.

@SHOPR Happy to help.  Mine are the standard Luminara diameter and interestingly, the plastic wick turned kind of yellow...I guess from the orange dye in the candles?  They still look okay when lit.  I took one out of the hurricane so you could see the color better.

On their website, they list them as being 3" in diameter, but the pics here look more like 3 and one half " ones.

What were the diameter of yours?

Also, not a big Bed Bath and Beyond shopper, so what kind of coupons, where can you find them?

And thank you!

@Mominohio Don't blame me for posting the picture...blame @SHOPR...she asked for it...lol.  Mine are the standard Luminara size.  I bought them last year at Bed, Bath & Beyond.  Sign up for their emails and you can get 20% off.  Sometimes, I find you have to buy each item separately to get 20% off of each item.  I get their hard copy coupons also in the mail almost every week.  Sometimes you can find hard copy coupons in magazines like Living and Real Simple.

@Snicks1

I agree, too expensive for what it is.

I'd be paying for a boring cream candle that I already have plenty of. And that hurricane, while really great in style, can be bought (a similar one) for much, less money when places like HL have half price sales. And the filler is really cheap, and can be put together with better components and more variety.

This is just one of those things that I think is pretty, but with what I already own, and what I would have to pay for what I don't already have, I can do for a fraction of the price.

Hobby Lobby does nothing comparable to this hurricane with a base.  I looked in their store today and even checked out their website.  I made several stops while I was shopping today including Michaels, At Home, Pier 1, and Pottery Barn, and I couldn't find anything that looked like the one QVC offers. The closest you'll find is at Pier 1, but it's nowhere near as nice, doesn't come with a "boring" Luminara Candle, and costs $52.  Based on the research I've done online and in stores, this offer from QVC is very much worth the price "for what it is."  It's always more helpful to cite facts, not conjecture, when helping others here on the forum with their potential purchases.

"Fact" is that I have seen similar hurricanes repeatedly in years past at a number of stores, and for less than half the price. No candle and no filler, but as I stated, for those of us that have those already, it really is no deal.

My observations on what I have seen in the marketplace is not 'conjecture', and it is indeed helpful when someone points out what they have seen out in the marketplace, or suggests using what one (and many) already own, along with purchasing just one less expensive piece (a hurricane), to create the same look that may be offered here for much more money.

And serching large merchants is only a fraction of the retail options out there. Much different and unique merchandise is out there in small shops across the country, that one will never find at the larger stores.

What is most helpful is to allow opinions and suggestions that may differ from your own, without sarcastic replies.

I think this is a very good price for this item, because that hurricane alone would cost at least $75-$90 in any other store.  I would have no problem unscrewing the candle from the base and using another Luminara.  Taking the candle out and replacing it with various colors and styles for the changing seasons is probably a smarter way to use it, anyway.

If I were interested, I would buy the white version, and put one of my Silver Snowflake Luminaras in it for Christmas.  I'd surround the candle with about an inch of either clear or icy blue fire pit glass pieces to complete the look.

You must not ever shop at TJMaxx, they have a huge array of this size hurricanes on bases that you can put your own Luminara candles in for $12.99-$14.99.

I've bought quite a few.
