@Marsha2003 wrote:@lucymo I tried to buy that last year, but it kept arriving broken. After three tries, I gave up. I hope they have changed the packaging this year so that it arrives safely. At that time it was $60+.
@Marsha2003That doesn't sound very promising of getting a good one, does it? It's very expensive so I'd have to think about it for awhile. I spend too much money on Luminara candles anyway.

@Nomore wrote:@lucymo Thanks!
I would like to have this, but the price is steep for me at this time. The video of the one last year during CIJ, Jane said 3 ezpay of 21.90. The filler has changed to add fall.

@NomoreIt is expensive and I'm in a self imposed 'no spending ' phase. Like you, I won't buy right now. I love Luminara and thought someone might want to watch the show and even need or want something.

Also, being able to change out the candle for colored ones for different holidays would make it much more versatile, IMO.
An easy pass for me and I'm a Luminara addict!
@KingstonsMom, I will be passing on this, too, but wanted to point out that I really think the candle will come out easily by removing 4 screws under the bottom. They show a pic of the bottom. In removing it, if there happens to not be enough of a platform left to support a new candle, you would have to improvise and put a sturdy disc of some kind in there and then place a new candle. FWIW and HTH someone.
@KingstonsMom@SHOPR Yes, it does work to remove the screws and take out the candle. I've done that with lanterns that came with candles that I didn't like. The hole left is usually not large enough to make the candle unstable. Not sure about this hurricane but it looks like it would be possible too should the candle stop working.

This hurricane from Luminara is pretty but the candle is not removable that's why I did not buy it last year. Best to make your own hurricane which I have done by going to Home Goods and buying the hurricane glass and putting your own candle in and decorations for a fraction of the price. It's not affordable.

$80 to get it home. Not happening. Then the candle is built into the unit.

All excellent points!
I don't see me getting this either. I remember the previous one like it, and it didn't excite me then.
If the candle is attached, it is a definite no for me because of price. I would want to be able to switch the candle out for that price.
Now should it ever go lunchtime special or something, I might jump on it, because the shape is really pretty, but the price for a permanent candle inside is what is stopping me.
But if any of you wish to send it to me as a gift, I'd like either one!

I think this is a very good price for this item, because that hurricane alone would cost at least $75-$90 in any other store. I would have no problem unscrewing the candle from the base and using another Luminara. Taking the candle out and replacing it with various colors and styles for the changing seasons is probably a smarter way to use it, anyway.
If I were interested, I would buy the white version, and put one of my Silver Snowflake Luminaras in it for Christmas. I'd surround the candle with about an inch of either clear or icy blue fire pit glass pieces to complete the look.

I deided to pass on this hurricane too when I found out if was a fixed candle and the reviews the last time were not very good. I think I liked the look of the Bethlehem Lights hurricane with the Luminara candle better.
If anyone is looking for the fall orange pumpkin colored Luminara, BBB website has them and they are so pretty. I received mine today and love them! I thought the price was really good too.
