President's Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day etc are Federal & State Holidays but most businesses do not give those as paid holidays.
Banks, schools, DMV, State & Fed offices, Post Office...YES, but most businesses never give those as paid holidays. I have never rec'd those as paid holidays in any place I have worked.
Part time employees have Never received paid holidays in any company I have worked for.
My next paid holiday off is not til Memorial Day.

@RespectLife Thanks for the info. Since I haven't worked in over 15 years, I guess I've lost touch with the holiday schedule!!!

Our company used to give us President's Day off but not long after we were bought out they realigned our holidays and took that one away from us; we also used to have 2 floating holidays as our original founder was jewish, but we lost those also.
We don't get Columbus or Veteran's days either but we do get two days for Thanksgiving but only one for Christmas (depending on what day Christmas falls on to what day you get off).

I worked for a big defense firm and I was in the same boat. Nothing until Memorial Day. However we did get around 6 or 7 paid days off from shortly before Christmas to New Year's. It was totally worth it.

Same here. Presidents Day is not a company holiday for us. They took that and Veterans Day and Columbus Day away years ago.

Businesses aren't required to give those days off. They call them half holidays or bank holidays here.
