No, they don't mix at all!! My sister had MS and she detested summer and humidity so much! Her DH was a real jerk and wouldn't let her set the thermostat down low enough for her to be comfortable. As I said...a real jerk! When she passed away frorm cancer seven years ago she donated her body to MS research. I am so proud of her. Her family won't let me see the results. I hope they found at least one thing that will help your situation. I hope we soon have colder weather and I certainly hope you do!!. Hang in there. You have a friend in SC...

@odie96
I'm so sorry to hear that your sister had MS. As you know from her experience MS is a tough disease. Her husband didn't deserve her. Definitely a jerk. It's so hard to lose someone we love. My 2nd cousin, Irv, died from his MS in March of 2008. He was only 66. (I'll be 66 in 6 months.) He was like a brother to me. God has blessed your sister for donating her body to research for MS. She's in  Heaven with Our Lord. I don't understand why her family refuses to share the results with you. I pray for the young people that can't get a diagnosis because their Neurologist follows the McDonald criteria. My MS Specialist diagnosed me based on my symptoms. I have MS without visible lesions on MRI. (Irv had the same type.) I got my wheelchair about 6 weeks ago. I was very fortunate that my insurance paid for it 100%. The controls are very sensitive and I ran into a lot of things LOL before I adjusted to the controls. Your friend in  NW IN.

Re: It's been a miserably hot summer for many....

Reminds me of all the beautiful scenes in "Meet me in St. Louis" with all the beautiful Victorian homes. We got a reprieve for about 1 day with temps in the 60's and dark, rainy and wonderful. But, the heat has come back with a vengence. I think it is time to pull the potted plants. So tired of watering them and they look miserable anyway. Do not know what the winter season will bring, but I cannot wait for summer to end here. My  red VPH truck like in the pic is getting decked out today with fall goodies. Love my truck. Wonder if the lady got her blue truck. I still chuckle about her post.

Truthfully, it hasn't been as hot in Tennessee as usual.  I don't think that we have had a single day above 100 (some years we have weeks of that temperature) but it has been in the 90's for the last few weeks.  We have had a rainy summer so we are still having to mow weekly and my flowers are lush looking.

Your picture is so pretty and nostalgic.  We don't get a lot of snow here but when we do then it does have that picturesque beauty about it because of our mountains.  We even have a wooden fence around our property and we have cardinals too.

I don't like to wish my life away but I do enjoy the milder days and nights of fall.  October in Tennessee is amazingly beautiful.

I've been through Tennessee a number of times, and it is a beautiful state.

As so many people continue to move to warmer climates, I'm surprised that Tennessee isn't chosen as a destination more often for retirement, especially by those from the northeast and midwest.

It's closer to 'home' and family than Arizona, Florida or the Carolinas for many of us, and you still get seasons, just the winter is shorter and more mild than many of us are used to.

It is a place my husband and I have talked about considering if we relocate after retirement.

Actually, there are a lot of people from "up north" as we say who have moved to Tennessee in recent years.  Sales tax is high in Tennessee (almost 10%) but there is no state income tax and land taxes are not as high as many other states.  Generally, the winters are mild and when we do have snow and frigid temperatures it doesn't last long.  Most people heat with heating/ac units and our electric bill is about the same year round.  It drops a little in the spring and fall when neither heat nor ac is required.

I live in the Chattanooga area and it is a good place to live.  There is a lot of industry, there are several good hospitals, and the scenery cannot be beat!

Re: It's been a miserably hot summer for many....

Thank you for the sweet comments. I miss my sister and my brother. He died a few months before Peggy due to doctor/hospital mistake. I'm glad you're adjusting to your wheelchair. I KNOW it's been a challenge for you. ANOTHER one! There is a group on Facebook comprised of MS patients and I belong to it. I've made some very nice friends there. You might like to joint their group. There are so many people with MS now. At one time it was almost unheard of around here. I have you have a good support team. It can make a big difference in your life  and the adjustments you have to make almost daily. Stay tuned....we will win this war on MS
