It's National Homemade Pie Day

From NationalToday.com:

Homemade Pie Day is held every year on August 1. It’s a day to celebrate pie, a dish that has existed since the era of the ancient Egyptians. Pies have featured in one form or another in several cultures around the world, from the ancient Greeks to the Romans to the British and eventually, the Americans. Today, pie has become a symbol of American life. It can be eaten as a meal, as a dessert, or as a snack.

Come to Pie Town, NM, out in the middle of nowhere, the mountains of the Gila Wilderness, and have a slice.  They're famous for it.

Getting there will be half the fun.

Re: It's National Homemade Pie Day

@Goodie2shoes  Interesting information! As it turns out, I partook of a piece of my SIL's pecan pie for breakfast. She served it yesterday for lunch and I just couldn't eat it after a great meal. She makes a great pecan pie!! I don't have the recipe. Sorry!
