Threw out the old tired one in January and I've been searching and researching. Good grief Balsam Hill company gets good reviews but close to $1000. Don't see good options on the Q's CIJ. Appreciate any suggestions.

@birdQ13  I have had a Balsam Hill tree for a number of years and these trees are really beautiful, but very heavy.  I always had to get someone to put it up and take it down, plus it took up a lot of space in one of my closets even packed up.  So, I gave it to one of the people who helped me take it down.  He was very hapy.  So, now I am looking for a little 2 to 3 ft tree that's light weight.

@birdQ13 ~ A few years back I purchased a beautiful prelit tree from Kohls.  It has slight flocking on it with white lights. As of this past Christmas it still lit up and looks as good as the day I brought it home.  I would check them out and watch for coupons (Kohls is really good about discounts, especially if you have their charge card).  Other than that, I would look at upscale consignment/resale shops ~ maybe even garage sales.  I know how shopping for a tree at a garage sale sounds, but just a month or so ago I purchased a gorgeous vintage silver tree in the original box along with the original color wheel.  I think it dates from the 60's.  The color wheel needs to be rewired but who would have thought I'd find that while out running errands, lol!  Good luck with your search!

I would keep my eyes on the Bethlehem Lighte offerings.  Last year, I was very impressed with one of their trees that had a "glistening" option as well as multiple others that included both white lights and multicolor ones that were on the same tree and could be controlled by a remote.  I'm sure they'll have a TSV at some point soon. They always do this time of year.

I also gave away my big beautiful tree last year because it was too large for me to havdle taking up and down.  I am looking for a 5 to 6 foot tree this year.  Has anyone had experioence with the Scott Living brand of trees.

They had a BL tree on sale this am. I have multiple trees and a few are the BL.  I've had good luck with them.

@birdQ13  I know this is "just me", but I cannot spend the kind of money for trees that are advertised out there. I honestly believe that any tree can be beautiful if adorned the way we love. Last year (or the year before) I bought a very inexpensive ($80-100) prelit tree from Big Lots. I go all out on dressing the tree and, IMO, they can be just as beautiful as a $500+ tree.

@pattypeep

You have skill!

Hard to believe that is a 'cheap' tree! You made it look like a very high end one.

And you are right, it is more about what you do with it, than the bare bones tree right out of the box.

Love pre lit trees, just wish we could count on the lights lasting for at least 10 years. I know some will, but most will not.
