Thanks for posting the illustration, @Kachina624 . 

 

We have a cactus that was gifted to us that is now 50 to 60 years old.  Thanks to your post I now know it is a Thanksgiving cactus.  It started blooming just before Thanksgiving, and the blooms are now starting to dry up.  They are a very deep pink.  It also blooms in the Spring. 

 

We have enjoyed this plant for many, many years.
