Re: Has anyone experienced serious quality issues with CIJ Decor figurines?

@SEGardener  I have been disappointed with VPH lately. Poor quality on painting, short battery life. I hold my breath with each order. I love her items but not the quality here of late.

The last 3 Christmas seasons VPH items have gone south... She has much items with glitter which I hate so those are NO.  Many items do look better on air than when you get them in your hands... Very little purchasing of any of VPH.  I bought a berry wreath and candlerings and they looked better on air--the quality is questionable; after removing most of the stiff, cheap greens and grooming, better. Used to love her items but the quality has greatly deteriorated which means I won't be purchasing VPH again; this wreath and candlerings are the last purchase. I have had many wonderful wreaths of hers over the years, but the quality has gradually disappeared.

Constant cheap junk  made in other countries  with slave labor .

Come on , this is what we Americians  get when we  gave power to other countries in mass producing  items

Re: Has anyone experienced serious quality issues with CIJ Decor figurines?

How sad it is to see Valerie’s products go downhill.  I don’t watch QVC very often,  but the few Valerie’s shows I have seen do not tempt me.  Good thing, as I already have so much holiday decor.

But to condemn anything made overseas is “to paint with too broad a brush.”  Jim Shore’s figures are made in China.  And then there are imports from Europe.

People can check Christmas shops in local department stores.  I find they seem to run big sales. Also, shops like Home Goods and TJMax has some very nice offerings for good prices.  There is a Christmas shop not far from where I live, full of nice things, and I am sure the vast majority manufactured abroad.  I drool over the Italian nativity sets!

I have found the same thing over the years, her items are hit or miss.   I no longer purchase from her line, though I did buy the faceted candlesticks recently (5 star reviews) so I took the chance and I love them.  I also have nice things I got in the past but if I were in your situation I would buy locally too or go with a more upscale online company like Balsam Hill for holiday decor.

Re: Has anyone experienced serious quality issues with CIJ Decor figurines?

@SEGardener  I have ordered a number of crystal and faceted items from Valerie for Christmas gifts and also several sets of candle holders and I have been very happy with the quality and the look. I do not order any battery operated items and I haven't for several years now....they just don't last for me.

I'm so sorry you have been disappointed...I know that is frustrating.

Re: Has anyone experienced serious quality issues with CIJ Decor figurines?

I too find it is a hit or miss with Valerie's stuff....

Last year was mostly a miss for me and I ended up cancelling ALOT of things that were on advanced order because what I was getting was junk.

This year I have been lucky (knock on wood). I got those large red metal flying deer...the capiz angels, deer  and sleigh and the santa with the gingerbread sleigh and reindeer. No broken antlers or bad paint jobs....

I'm not ordering the TSV because those glitter things go through batteries like water and they usually stop working or the fan motor gets annoyingly loud.

Nothing else she has right now catches my eye and I don't want to press my luck...

True but I believe the difference is in the negotiated terms.  Jim Shore likely has demanded free Chinese labor and NO slave labor factories.  As I think about the so very poor and sloppy work, I'm convinced this is Uighur labor purposefully producing poor quality to derail the product and ultimately end demand.  BTW I used to have access for both Christmas Shops, Homegoods and TJMax but since relocating to rural TN those are not available.  I miss them.
