Happy Thanksgiving, fellow Posters.  I hope you have a wonderful day filled with good food, family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too Lucy. I hope you and your family have a wonderful day tomorrow and now all the decorating we've been waiting for can begin....although I've already started. Couldn't  keep my deer in a box any longer...LOL.

@MTH  Thank you.  I do know that those deer get wild around this time of year and if we don't let them out, I do believe they will 'bust' out themselves.

I've already started decorating too but I'm suffering from a bad case of indecisiveness, use it here or there and that sort of thing.  I'd better get it in gear or the first thing Santa will see is an Autumn plate with Pumpkin pie on it.  lol

I wish you, family and friends the best Thanksgiving ever.  Enjoy your day.

@lucymo  I hear you on the indecisiveness.  I put out my JS Santas and keep moving them around.  DH finally told me to leave them alone...LOL.  So excited about using all my reindeer this year.  Gonna be a reindeer and JS Christmas for sure.  Can't believe how many of both I have.  Enjoy that pumpkin pie!!!

I thought I had the 'indecisiveness' conquered as I was very pleased with last years arrangements, and stored everything in each room. There should be no decisions to make.

Wrong!

I emptied out a curio cabinet in my living room, and now decorate is seasonally (and that wasn't part of last year's plan), so will have to come up with something to do there.

Also, my son rescued what appears to be a pit bull boxer mixed pup (about a year old) and while she is the sweetest and a very well behaved dog for one found on the side of the road, she has a happy tail that swings like mad. I used to place my set of three porcelain nut crackers on the coffee table (were these Lisa R's?) but I think they will quickly meet their demise if I do that this year, so I have to come up with a change for that.

Pondering it all till Friday when the real work begins!

And Happy Thanksgiving to all here too. Hope everyone is able to share the day with people you love, and remember all that we really have, and how fortunate we are.

@Mominohio  You will get it done, I have faith in you.  Enjoy that little dog.  Happy Thanksgiving, my friend.

@Mominohio  Ditto Lucy and enjoy that puppy.  I have 2 labrador retrievers so I also can't put anything on a coffee table.  It is hard when there is less places to put decorations. Cramps the style..LOL.  Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

@MTH@Mominohio  My daughter had two Golden Retrievers and there was never any dust on the coffee table or anything else because their tails were better  than swiffer dusters.  The dogs will love you no matter what and those items we put on the table have no love for us, just sit there collecting dust and making us work.  Smiley Happy

@lucymo @MTH

You are so very right!

I was so angry with my son, as he had been told 'no dogs' for now. I lost my beloved Grady (Border Collie mix) just over a year ago. He got a very aggressive and fast moving cancer and was gone in only a couple of weeks after showing signs, just one week after diagnosis. I was (am still) devastated and bear some guilt that I didn't see the signs. He was 12 and I took his changes to be age related and normal. I simply did not want to bring another dog into my life at this time (we still have two cats, and my focus was on them for this last year).

My son showed up on a Sunday morning after he got off work (he works 3rd shift) It was a beautiful early October morning,  he had a little convertible car, and he was taking a scenic ride on a beautiful country road when he found her in the road, very thin and seeming lost. He stopped an neighboring farms and asked if they knew where she belonged, and no one did.

It took him a while to earn her trust and get in the car, but I've never seen a dumped dog that is so well behaved in the house. Never an accident, never destroys anything. and even though she is full grown, thinks she is a lap dog, and will just about kill you to get her whole self up on your lap.

We are having trouble getting the cats to adjust (which is odd, because they loved the last dog), but she certainly is sweet. She looks in your eyes and melts your heart. My mom says she is so good because she is so grateful to have a good home and wants to stay! LOL

We have always had a pet (or two or four) for as long as I can remember. Our house wouldn't seem like a home without them.

Our next problem will be when my son moves out. He is 20 and may be leaving home in the next year. It is his dog (he is paying for all her expenses) and she will go with him. I'm sure by then I will have a breakdown over that! But, there are always many more looking for someone to love.

@Mominohio  I understand the happy tail, lol, my male has one which curls over his back with very long fringe, I call it his flag, lol.  Who needs air conditioning with a tail like his. Smiley Happy  When he is lying down and sees me, his tail thumps the floor or bed, it is always in motion. Smiley Happy

@lucymo...Thanks lucy.  Has been quite a year for me.  Trying to get as much quilting done as possible, a couple stays in the hospital etc.

Thanks so much for the nice compliments and glad that I have added smiles to your days.  I sure have saved a lot of money without your enabling.  LOL

You have a good one too
