Gorgeous, @ECBG --  I really love the elegant simplicity of those oversized glass vessels, too.

I couldn't believe it when reading about mantles on a decor site that they start with ropes of leaves like you see hanging at craft stores.

The full ones that are all branches are tied together with twine!

What brand of craft store is in tour area?  We've had Michael"s for decades, Hobby Lobby for about 2 years.

Years ago, we had Ben Franklin Craft stores, their silks, containers, everything was nicer.

Thats all the decorating I can do in my tiny apartment---have a rustic wood beam mantle and thats my area. I tack table runners to the front of the mantle instead of the huge garland--no room for that ,altho I do use smaller garlands on top. but have assorted mirrors and candles and all sorts of things for each season---

@ECBG ,  Ben Frankliin stores, that sounds interesting!   We have some independent craft stores, and Joann's of course, and a new Hobby Lobby.  Michaels is a bit farther away.

I tend to browse more in antiques and resale shops, for some reason.  Maybe because I know it would be more easy to get "carried away" in the craft shops!   Those burgundy and black leaves were the first botanical type things I've gotten in quite a while.  The only reason I sprang for those, was an impulse to get a little into a different fall color scheme.  Still trying to keep a lid on it!
