@BabyYoda  Hi! The door piece is actually from Big Lots last fall when things were getting marked down. I have a wrought iron candle holder that hangs from the bottom of the mantle, but it's there late fall through the winter, and I liked this piece for a change. Thank you for your nice comments.

Are you both decorating soon? I hope lots of posters will do pictures if they can. I worked on adding more pics for most of the morning, and still can't seem to get them to work. So frustrating! pinky

@pinky ann I go to Big Lots as well. They have great decorations every season at great prices. I don't have a computer only an iPad I post from and I cannot post photos for some reason. I had a family member put my photo on my avatar here from her computer. I am challenged technically.

I will start decorating for fall when fall actually begins and leave it up until the day after Thanksgiving. I add pieces here and there leading up to Thanksgiving like my little sisal turkeys I have and use Thanksgiving plates etc.

Last year I decorated early for Fall and Christmas due to some personal stress I was going through being a caregiver to my mom in another state. I wanted to enjoy the seasons while I was in my home and was going back and forth for weeks at a time to take care of my mom. I still go up to my moms but not as often as I have full time care set up for her.

Life is too short so I say decorate when you want and however you want to bring joy in your life! The small things we do matter in life.

Sorry to hear about your husband and hope you post more often when you have the time.

@BabyYoda Hi Blue Ocean! It was so nice of you to post back. I try to keep things as normal as possible. For me to not do some decorating would just make me so sad. I don't do as much as I once did as I've been trying to downsize our home for the past several years now, and don't want to fill things up again. We live in a small farmhouse and just don't have tons of places to put things. The mantle, my favorite, the kitchen table and just a couple of other places are it for decor. I try to make it things that are homey and simple, and don't really know if I'd want to do things any other way.

I'm so glad you decorated for yourself while going back and forth to your mom's. I hope she is doing well. DH is stable for now, so I can't ask much more than that. He does like what decorating I do and usually notices right away. I'm amazed at the number of posters here who are. or have been caregivers for loved ones. It was so nice to post with you! pinky

@pinky ann, I hope you can get more pics to upload here without too much aggravation.  I only recently started uploading my pics directly here.  I copied and pasted them from Photobucket in the past.  Of the dozen or so I've uploaded directly, only two gave me the file too large error.

Perhaps it can be resolved on any type of device, by making a crop, size reduction, or some other simple edit.  I hope so!

@SHOPR Hi SHOPR, I was busy much of the day so I didn't get to fool with the photos today. I'm not giving up. If one posted from that group of pics, there's just no reason others can't post. A new message alternated with the too large one saying something like no photo found in the url...  That's after I had cropped a few. I have no idea. I wish it made sense somehow! lol pinky

@pinky ann, That error messages makes no sense to me.  I have seen the suggestion over and over again for this website in general, that when things act crazy, close your browser and do a cleanup like deleting cookies and browsing history, etc.  Then start fresh and see how it goes.

@pinky ann Thanks for asking. My mom is stable health wise now but her dementia is getting worse. I am grateful she still recognizes me but sometimes she thinks I am my Dad who passed away a long time ago. Glad your DH is stable. As a caregiver it is important to take some time off for yourself as it really is hard on us mentally and physically. Hopefully you can get another photo to post. Would like to see how others decorate for the seasons.

I may get started on my Fall decorating (inside) this weekend since it is a long weekend.  I usualy like to wait until later in September but our September weekends are filling up fast, so if I can at least start this weekend I will be happy.  Fall is my favorite season and I love Fall decor almost more than Christmas decor.  I will post pictures when I am finished if I can figure out how to do it.  Thanks for asking.

Hot Damm! We got a photo!!!!!!! I didn't do anything different this time, so I have no idea what happened, but I'm grateful and thrilled!!!! this is the display on our kitchen table. It's an oval shape, close to the wall so I like having a small accent lamp there in addition to whatever else I decide will look nice for the season.

The wreath is one I made and stays on the brick wall in the kitchen. I love that type of berries, but unfortunately, so do all of the cats! Here I can safely use them. Simple but it says it!

I guess this is it for now,  as I can't get anymore cooperation getting the pics posted. I am very happy these worked, and hope anyone interested checks back to see them. pinky

@pinky ann Yeah you got the photos to post! Love the velvet pumpkin. I have many of Valerie's velvet pumpkins and some from Home Goods I bought years ago. Love that wreath with berries you made.
