Before Shop Hq  closed , they were selling various plates & tea cups of china. Can't remember the brand but the plates were  various years  when the pattern was popular 1950  . Was tempted but have no more room to store  china.

I re-watched the movie, "The American President" this week and I loved the scene in the "Dish Room."

@sandy53 - One of my favorite movies - that and Dave, with Kevin Kline. I will watch every time they're on.  Smiley Happy

Re: FAMOUS DINNERWARE PATTERNS

I love my china (Pembroke) and silver pattern (Versailles) the best in all the world!

I collected them over decades!

However, they just do not get enough use, as all must be washed by hand.

For daily use we have Lenox Butterfly Meadow, below.

Gorham Versailles 1888-  Each piece in the collection has a different design (lots of angels)!

Re: FAMOUS DINNERWARE PATTERNS

@Oznell - Thank you for sharing these beautiful patterns. I really like "Autumn" too. I always enjoy the background stories and history you share!

My original china is Lenox "Sachet"

Later I inherited so much! I have my one grandmother's Limoges service for 12 (with a few pieces missing) which came from France. I have my other grandmother's Blue Willow. And I have my mom's English cream colored Wedgewood. I also inherited a a pretty Noritake set with green around the edge.

I usually break out my grandmother's Limoges for holidays. I seldom use my Lenox. My grandmother's Blue Willow is in the antique hibachi that sits in our dining room.

When I remember how we built our set up, with family members helping with their gifts, and how not that many years later we inherited so much, I have to smile!   Smiley Happy

Re: FAMOUS DINNERWARE PATTERNS

Oooh, I knew people would have good stuff on this one!

@haddon9 ,  your Mikasa "White Silk" and "Something Blue" are so refreshing and pretty.  Clever of you to get the neutral, and then a colorful one you can mix in, that is the same sculptural shape as the neutral one.  Looks coordinated, and gives you so many options.  That buttefly on the inside of the cup--  charming.

@on the bay, thank you, and  right, our @ECBG loved Kirsten and Georg and posted wonderful videos of their adventures.  How we miss ECBG, a light of the Home forum and every forum...

@Sooner ,  ah, I'm glad this thread lured you out, you of the eclectic array of all kinds of fabulous dinnerware, curated and cherished.  I love hearing about your far-flung collections.

@4kitties ,  I agree, "Friendly Village" is so homey and inviting.  I so wish I had the few pieces that my mother had!!  I expect one of my sisters got them.

@jlkz ,  that "Green Arras" is one Wedgwood pattern I hadn't seen before- it is ravishing!   I looked it up to get a closer look at that green, which is sumptuous--

@FancyPhillyshopper ,   Love both "Pembroke", and "Butterfly Meadow".  Both your daily, and your good china, have a similar lilt, and breath-of-fresh-air quality,  lovely.

ANd I've never seen a silver pattern with angels-- they are a marvel...  that might be my favorite of all!

@beach-mom ,  you are yet another one with a load of treasures!  Limoges, Lenox, Blue Willow ( another favorite).    Too bad you rarely use "Sachet" --  it has such a quaint charm, and I love that softest pink with hits of blue and green...

Re: FAMOUS DINNERWARE PATTERNS

@FancyPhillyshopper I love all your choices!  We have a number of large cups/bowls and mugs of Butterfly Meadow that we eat out of almost daily.  They are sturdy, a great weight and beautiful!!!!!
