Dear Fellow Holiday Lovers:
My mail just arrived. Included was my first catlogue this cycle that had a Christmas feature. It has a bound in insert with Christmas items from Miles Kimball. The cover prominently promoted the "Christmas in July" insert.
I've been their customer for years and have gotten some great items that I still use--especially in the kitchen. They are not an extremely fast shipper but are very precise in packing and shipping and the one time eight or so years ago they promptly fixed a problem that arose for me.
So, QVC is far from alone in being a CIJ promoter.
Wonder how many other catalogues will show up? I'm going to try to keep a running count this summer just for fun.

I will be looking for mine. Miles Kimball also. I have gotten Santa letters from them for years. My one granddaughter said a few years ago that the kids at school said that there wasn't a Santa. She said that there is because she get a letter every year.

I didn't realize that Miles Kimball was still in business.
I used to love their catalogs when my kids were young.

@aroc3435 None for me yet, but my DH gets in the mail every day, so some may meet with a swift deep 6, if you know what I mean. I will have to try to intercept.

@PA Mom-mom How "helpful" of him!![]()
Since most of the mail is for me and I'm closer to the front door I usually get it, although my "helpful" Significant Other always offers to do so.![]()
How is your retirement going? I hope you are enjoying it in spite of the new whatever this is. Any little ray of sunshine that shows up I am cherishing.
Hope you have a happy Independence Day!

Before I retired, I worked for a catalog company for about 10 years. We sent out our "fall/1st version holiday" catalogs to delivered around 4th of July. While we did not advertise or refer to the mailing or specific items as "Christmas in July", it is pretty much standard across the industry to include holiday items in the early July mailing.
