Re: Do You Decorate with Precision?

@Desertdi,

I wonder if the military tuck is the same as "hospital corners." I was teaching one of my son-in-laws how to do them. I couldn't imagine doing a bed without them much less not knowing how, whereas he probably couldn't imagine that it mattered lol!

I suffer from this malady.  My tree had to be perfect.  Took me two days to decorate, didn't  want any help.  Seems everytime I looked at it, I had to move something.

@KathyM23I totally understand! (and I feel your pain)

@Kachina624  My dad was a medic in the 58th armored division that landed at Normandy. I think the atrocities he dealt with in the service made him change his course of study in college from medicine to business. He became a VP of Finance for a large company. He wanted all numbers to be correct to the penny in our family biz too.

@Desert Lily.  I had an uncle, a paratrooper, who landed at Normandy.   As far as I know, he didn't talk about his experience.   He was injured and had lifetime problems with a knee.

Re: Do You Decorate with Precision?

We're not picky about our ornament placement.  We just put them where we think they should go at that moment.  My mom was never like that either, as kids we were able to place them where we wanted.  Oh but the dreaded tinsel.........that was always an adventure to say the least, anyway I have not used tinsel ever in my adult life!

As another poster stated, the lights are what make the trees pretty!

Re: Do You Decorate with Precision?

Yes, Virginia, there IS a right way to decorate a tree...  Smiley Very Happy

I am extremely particular about how my tree is decorated, mainly because my goal is simplicity; I like to really see the tree and the lights, so my ornaments are minimal. But it's fun to see others set up their whimsical or over-the-top or themed trees—I don't expect anyone to do what I do and want everyone to do what makes them feel joyful.
