Christmas Time Reflections Illuminated Snowing Lantern By Valerie

It looks like quite a few of us purchased Valerie's Illuminated Snowing Latern since the item isn't available anymore. Just curious if others had "issues" with it.

I got the deer and loved it initially, now the fan/blower is so loud, I can't stand it - at first it was tolerable "white noise" - now, not so much. This is going back, but just curious about the rest of you and if you'd experience trouble. I've had issues with the noisy and/or defective fans in the glitter spheres, but I guess I haven't learned.

Re: Christmas Time Reflections Illuminated Snowing Lantern By Valerie

It seems she has problems with anything that has a motor. I have the Spider snow globe from Halloween. The fan quit spinning after a few weeks on mine. Of course it is too late to send back.  The reviews on anything of hers that has a motor gets mixed reviews.

My spider globe was still working when I bought four of her winter snow globes. I don't have a lot of faith in them.  It is too bad it turned me off and I probably won't buy anything like these again.

I shy away from these types of globes as I had one once and the same thing happened.....it died after one holiday season.  They make these pretty items and charge a fortune but they are made of junk!   I wouldn't mind paying a fair amount if I was getting something that will last and wasn't made with the cheapest materials possible.

@tl98466 , I bought, and have used the earlier versions of this lantern in the church, and barn choices. No noise, no problems. They have run daily for a year.

I bought the deer choice, that was presented a few weeks ago. It is very loud, and the detail is not as nice as the earlier ones. I will be returning mine . The noise is too much.

@tl98466  - I also returned mine within days of receipt because of the loud sound of the motor.  A "snowball" was also stuck in one of the deer's antlers and nothing would dislodge it.  I bought one last year, so it will be interesting to see how it works this year when I bring it out.

I'm sort of glad I missed out on these.  I was on the fence about buying it knowing that the reviews were mixed on last year's version.

@DecorDiva That is funny! There was a snowball stuck in one of the antlers of my deer as well - it drove me nuts!

But it has several patents lol. We heard that more than a few times. This is not rocket science and the technology behind these is  is nothing new. My mom had a light post one of these types of things outside her home for several years for Christmas. She purchased it at Walmart and it was quiet and worked great.

All jokes aside, I agree. These items are not cheap and I would expect them to work properly.

I bought one of these when she first premiered them about 4 years ago. Has always worked great.

This year I foolishly purchased one of those snow globe christmas trees.  Worked one day and kaput.  Motor started running extremely loud and glitter did not move.  Immediately sent it back and got a refund.
