Went to the fancyspot blog and looked at more of her pictures. Those from Christmas 2012 are simply stunning. I couldn't figure out how to post them here but they are worth taking a look!

Apparently she likes a full array of objects when decorating, although I did see some settings that were a simple and clean look.

@lucymo  She decorates like me, lots and lots in every display. Smiley Happy  If I had more surfaces, I could spread things out a bit, maybe, but they might end up the same as now, lol.

Things can look cluttered to someone, but to someone else, who looks at the details and story, and sees everything defined, then clutter is not what one sees, but I am sure there are those who think my displays are cluttered, but I like it. Smiley Happy.

@mousiegirl  I think everyone does what they like when they decorate.  I just think this lady's style isn't mine, I don't use the type of materials that she does and I'm not into distressing so it wouldn't work in my house.  But, I'm glad that we don't all do the same thing as then it would be boring.  I enjoy seeing all the different  styles and materials used in decorating.

I'm looking forward to seeing your Christmas pictures especially the big tree and the changes to the 'Red Room' if you did anything.

I enjoy looking at these types of decorating pictures, but I could not tolerate this look in my home.   I like simple and uncluttered.  I don't like "stuff"; bare walls and tabletops are perfect.  The decorations in my home are pictures of my family members.

@Thrive

@lucymo,

How interesting.  This buffet is very, very similar to my old buffet, except that mine is not painted and has a heavier, curvier brace underneath, and oval trim on the doors, and different hardware.  I say this is interesting because it is a great way to imagine how mine would look painted.  I don't think I ever will paint mine because I like it how it is and it was inherited, but it's amazing how the distressed paint really brings out the details of a piece.
