Re: Bath and Body works candle sale

[ Edited ]

You would have thought these were the last candles left on earth by the scene I saw at my local mall. I see the candles are totally soldout on line.

In the store I shopped, which opened 15 minutes early, there was a line of not less than 100 waiting to check out. One woman brought two of her

own wheeled grocery carts and left with-I know because I asked and she told me--ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN candles. That's right 116 candles. She had those 6-pack cardboard trays stacked at least 4 feet high in each cart. 60+ in each cart. That is nuts.

By the time I checked out and left the store at 10:30 am, I would say at least 70% of their inventory of candles was wiped out.

The entire scene was rather friendly and people were patient and nice, but seriously, BBW needs to do this for more than one day, and have more stock on had.

Re: Bath and Body works candle sale

I was there this morning, too.  My store opened at 8AM, and I showed up at 9:30AM.  Just like last year, it was pretty packed.  Those stores are so tight, that it's tough to move around even when it isn't busy, so candle day is always a nightmare.  I made a killing on Black Friday by stacking coupons, but there was a 20% off coupon valid, so I thought I would pick up 4 more.  I got all 4 for $31.00 including tax, so I thought that was a pretty good deal.  I'm pretty sure I won't be able to burn all these candles this Christmas, so I'm ready for next year, too.

Re: Bath and Body works candle sale

I went to my local store after 12:00 pm  today. It was busy, but not overly so.  I purchased 6 candles, a tube of body cream for my sister and a small hand sanitizer for my granddaughter who was with me.

i had coupons and my total was $40.45 plus tax

i have at least BBW candles in a closet, so I got scents that I knew I didn’t have. Some were new for me.  I hope I like them.

Could someone share how they get extra 20% coupons? I have about 4 of the $10 off of 30 coupons but no 20%. Would be good to know for future. Bought enough candles yesterday. Thanks

Re: Bath and Body works candle sale

I didn't even bother going this year as I am well stocked with candles.  I'm waiting for the semi annual sale after the holidays to get the candles cheaper.

Re: Bath and Body works candle sale

@Twins Mom The 20% off coupon I used came via email.  If you enter you give your email when you check out at the store, you will get emails several times a day from them.  These emails frequently contain coupons embedded in them that you can present by opening the email and handing your smart phone to the cashier when you check out.  Also, these coupons are valid up to 3 days after the date you receive them.  The coupon I used on Saturday was sent to me on Friday.

The store my sister and I went to had a 15 candle limit....the lines were out the door....the staff kept stacking and fragrances kept disappearing.........what a madhouse....but the BBW employees were helpful and cheery throughout all chaos.....

@TenderMercies: thank you for 3 day info on coupons, I am forever printing and then forgetting. One lady had a coupon that looked like a hang tag. I had the strips that you tear so there are a variety of offers.

@Spurt

I have to say the staff at BBW kept a cool head and were so helpful and friendly.

I thought there was a limit, but at the store I went to, it was obviously ignored!
