I have dark olive green house with a black front door.  I want to go a little different this year for the wreath.  I got wired Harlequin ribbon (black and white) for the bow.  I get a wreath at Costco and spray about 1/2 can of flocking on it because the green does not show up on black door.  I was at Michaels today looking for some picks to accent the black or even something I could paint.  Could not find anything.  I did find some ornaments on line but this door opens and I don't want breakable things falling off.  I will also use red and white on it.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Good suggestion.  I have some red birds (actually a lot of red birds) but they are not cardinals so no black on them.  Everything I saw today at Michaels (birds) had glitter all over them.  I am not a glitter fan.

Is gold your thing?  It would probably show up nicely on a black door.

I do know of what you speak.  I have a dark red front door and hang my wreath on the brick next to the door.

Normally I do not wander into this area but I have to ask have you looked at the non-breakable ornaments?  So many stores carry them in such great color combinations, maybe that could be an option for you.

I have a dark red front door too and wreaths or door decor doesn't show well.

I moving toward all red and white (I am almost there).  I have found a can of spray flocking on the green wreath really helps it show up.

Red birds,

red apples,

red Berry picks.

Glittered red pinecones.

Snowy branch picks,

Snowy pinecone picks.

Maybe some of those will work for you...

Have fun decorating your wreath...
