I was watching a You-tube video that talked about Mother's using Glass wax and the stencils they also sold at Christmas to make designs on windows.

I remember my Mom doing that and it was always my job to get it off the window when the Holidays were over. I thought it was so pretty when I was little......

I don't even know if they make that stuff anymore......LOL

I don't remember my Ma using wax with the stencil which would have probably been easier to work with.  I do remember my Ma using stencils and those cans of spray snow.  If you had an interior window that sweated in any way shape or form the design didn't last long

I grew up with the glass wax and window stencils. Great memories. I also remember my mom using a razor to clean the window after Christmas.

I thought the Vermont Country store used to carry them.

You bet!  Our house had large picture windows so there was no stopping me.

I remember trying stencils one year.  It was difficult to do but I was happy with the results.

Glass wax is still made.  It's a window cleaner that you apply, let dry, then polish off the residue.  

We used to decorate the windows with it when I was a kid.  Those were fun days.

I think Glass Wax is a thing of the past.  Haven't seen or heard of it for years.  My mom never used the stencils but I remember seeing them

Oh Yes!  Mom used to do all of the windows in the house and I kept up that tradition when we bought our house.  But you can't find the stencils any longer and Glass Wax can be hard to find.

Glass Wax was a product of Gold Seal, which has since gone out of business.

Sorry it went out of business. It was one of the Christmas decorating things that "the Kids" would do. And we had lots of windows to decorate.
