I have some beautiful garlands that I bought for Christmas this year from QVC.  Is it OK to leave them up after the holidays - or should I take them down and get some Spring garlands?  I am a novice decorator,as you can tell.Woman Very Happy

@Carol08....does the garland scream Christmas or just winter?

If it seems more Christmas than just winter I would take it down when you take down your other Christmas decor.  I have some winter garland that I leave up thru January.

After Christmas, like a few days after, I do a total house cleaning while also taking down all things Christmas and leave up winter decor.  The winter decor stays up until roughly February, unless I get tired of looking at it and then it goes back to their respective storage places.

I decorate for spring around March...I am not a fan of winter so the sooner I can start thinking about warmer weather the better my mood!

This is just how I do things, you will get the 'feel' of what you like.......

If they are geared for holiday decorating, I'd swap them out when I put my holiday decor away.

Thanks so much for your suggestions.  Some of the gralands do scream "Christmas" - but I have one that could stay through Valentine's Day.  Right now, the garlands are new to my decor, and I don't want to take them down, yet.   By the time New Year's arrives, I will probably be tired of looking at them - and be ready to move to Spring decor.

@Carol08

I'd leave them up if you enjoy them! There is nothing at all wrong about it!

I have been trying to decorate frugally by choosing year-round items when possible.

For me, when I have items up in which the greenery includes evergreen 🌲 branches, they do not stay out past winter. JMO
