There have been some really lovely peices that I would have gladly purchased if QVC ever included Black Santas, angels or characters living inside the vignettes of the lanterns, snowglobes and other Christmas items. I know it's too late for Christmas 2020, but perhaps Christmas 2021 while it's still in the works. It is unfortunate that 20 years into the 21st century, this is still a problem.

I agree. I also think that Asian Americans should be represented in these items as well. They equal African American in terms of percentage of US population (12%) and it would be lovely if they were recognized as well.

Re: African-American Christmas?

The Todays Special Value for the whole Kickoff to Christmas In July on 6/29 Had the option of a set with  Black Santa And Elf. and I have seen other pieces offered this year so If you DO choose to search the CIJ site  Look under Other Options if the colour you are looking for isn't shown.

Re: African-American Christmas?

QVC is slowly improving, and I think the vendors are responding with more variety of items.

Valerie Parr Hill creates most of the lanterns and she has provided some diverse choices in statues and Mr. Christmas offered diverse choices in ornaments this year.

The gingerbread house, cardinal, snowmen and church lanterns are all neutral choices.

QVC should still be offering new items for this year, so we may see some additional options.

Re: African-American Christmas?

While not a ton of choices, QVC both this year, and in the last several, has had choices that include black and brown skin tone choices in holiday figures, and in toys like dolls as well.

They seem to sell out very quickly, and again, they haven't been available in all items, but there seem to be more each year.

Re: African-American Christmas?

I don't think Christmas is a black and white issue but everyone should be included.  Hispanic, Asian, Islander, Black.
