Why do AS IS prices flucuate up and down for the same item?  I had purchased an AS IS Christmas tree for my Mom.  The next day, the price went up $18.  Looked again today and it is $20 lower then the price I bought it at.

Just speculation, but since it was "AS IS" pricing, maybe your item was in better condition than the other "AS IS" item?  "AS IS" does mean it is a return or floor model or flawed.

Perhaps you bought the tree, then another tree was returned and its condition was not as nice?

@GrailSeekerThat just doesn't sound right. I cannot imagine the staff keeping track of how good things look that are being added to as is. I buy a lot from as is and have never had to return an item. I do notice the price fluctuations, but don't like it. If a price is lowered, it should stay lowered, IMO.

So, the price went up $18 from one day to the next, and then went up ANOTHER $20?   I don't think I get it.....

If the new/updated price is significantly lower than what you paid, and you're keeping the item, I'd call and ask for a price adjustment.

When I ordered it, it was $150.  The next day, it was $168.  I check it again a few days later and it was $130!  Go figure!
