@pattypeep

Enjoy! Last year I took a cruise 2 weeks before Christmas.

My kids thought I was "sick" because I always was worrying about getting everything right for the holiday and travelled home.

I had a ephiphany : my grown kids don't stop their lives, my GD is older, they don't run around to get the "perfect" gifts, food, etc. -- they enjoy the holidays.

My kids said "you're finally getting it!".

Have a great time 🏝⛱🛳.  Happy Anniversary too🍾🥂

I've often thought a vacation over Christmas would be great. I'd pick a beautifully decorated hotel and would tip generously because the workers give up their day with family for the hotel guests.

true but they may want to work that day or it may not be their holiday.  many reasons for working Christmas or Tgiving.  when you are in service bus it's part of the deal

Re: A New Tradition for the Holidays?

This year for Thanksgiving we are renting a house from the 1700’s in Connecticut with my sibling and their family for four days.

We once stayed at a Bed and Breakfast in Cape May for Christmas. Beautiful town over the Christmas Holidays.

Spent another Thanksgiving with some family in Plymouth Massachusetts and saw all the first Thanksgiving sites.

@pattypeep  Just curious, why did you decide to take the cruise over Thanksgiving instead of Christmas? It seems that if you aren’t going to:be celebrating Christmas with family or friends that this would be the more ideal time to:go.

@MaryLamb  Because that is when and where we spent our honeymoon. Heart
