A Complaint about Shipping through USPS

Every single item I've bought lately through QVC, no matter what size, is being transferred from UPS to USPS for delivery.  I dislike this practice very much as it adds delivery time to my orders, adds another chance for an item to be lost or broken and isn't always delivered to my door.  Sometimes, the mail carrier leaves boxes by the mailbox on the sidewalk or tries to cram them into the mailbox.  I double-checked and there's no longer an option to request UPS only delivery.  Anyone else frustrated by this practice?

I prefer USPS.  My USPS guy comes around 11:00 AM most days.  My UPS guy often doesn't come until 8PM!

Re: A Complaint about Shipping through USPS

@Marsha2003  NAILED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also have complained in MANY other forums on this very subject.  Apparently the right people are not getting our messages about this.  We all know that Mods read these posts, our posts.  I'm confused as to why they've not passed our tons of concerns from tons of us here.

I have one or two mail carriers who DO cram my bags into my box.  In my neighborhood I don't have a problem with this.  It does extremely bug me when my USPS is given boxes to deliver to me that originated UPS for a couple of reasons.  Boxes of packages are unmanageable by regular carriers of mail.  One of my carriers actually delivers 2x to houses expecting boxes because it's necessary for her to work this way.

Then there are those carriers I get who toss boxes (or bags) anywhere on my porch for all the world to see.  UPS doesn't do this that is WHEN AND IF I actually do get a QVC package directly from UPS.

So yeah, I HATE this system they got going on.  No wonder it only costs $3.00. We get what we pay for I suppose.

You need to go to the post office and complain about how your packages are being delivered. I did,  they seemed shocked that I would complain, but did not defend themselves. Have not had a problem since.

Re: A Complaint about Shipping through USPS

@Marsha2003, The only time I get lucky and have UPS deliver my SurePost items is when there are two or more of them coming through the local facility at the same time.  Since the transfer to USPS adds only one day here, my main gripe is not knowing how and when I'll get it until the morning the local UPS gets the package and processes it.  The other combo services like Mail Innovations are royal pains and should be outlawed.  LOL

@blackhole99 In fact, I have complained after two non-QVC packages were lost even when they were shown as have been delivered.  I know they weren't stolen because I pick up the mail almost immediately after it is delivered.  They were low enough value that I didn't pursue a claim, but I did file a complaint and talked to my carrier nicely about my concerns.  I can't see that it made a difference at all.

I don't know how far you want to take this, but you could file a complaint about your local post office with the regional headquarters and make sure you always file a claim for lost packages so they have a formal record of what's going on Good luck
