Just love a handbag that is 14-16" long & 5-6 " wide at base & 9" high in a nice leather or calf hair that can with stand a little rain which zips shut at the top and has a crossbody & a hand strap . I want good leather , The name or brand is not relevant .
I look for these style elements .

I like Brahmin bags but it seems everybody in town carries them.
I like Henri Bendel bags as well as the Brahmin bags and they look nothing alike. HB is not as expensive as some of the high-end brands but they look nice.
I have had several Aigner bags and they were high quality when they were sold in the high-end department stores. I am not sure how their quality is now, but I am seeing them re-emerge in the marketplace.
I have a Liz Claiborne that I have had for about 20 years, or more that is such good quality leather.
I like bags with the key clip in them and those older ones did not have that so I tend to carry my newer bags with the key clip. It keeps me from laying down my keys and losing them.
Do you still have the alligator handbag? Would have loved to have seen it!

@JavaQueen wrote:I've owned a number of handbags. That number included Coach, Dooney, LV, Radley London, Michael Kors and whatever bag I liked. I only like certain Dooney lines, not all. Coach is my absolute favorite and if prices hadn't shifted upward, I would proably own more Coach. Currently, I have mostly the old classics, which have held up beautifully.
You cannot wear a Coach bag out at all; my best handbag of all.

Handbags are my weakness. Brahmin is my favorite brand, but I also have always wanted one of those big leather Chloe satchels - they are heavy, however, and the prices are completely absurd.
Does anyone remember in the 1970's when Etienne Aigner was THE handbag to own? They were in a very distinctive signature red/maroon leather and they had a brass "A" on them.
Sure do! I had the leather burgundy coat, the all weather trench coat, the shoes and boots too. The only thing I had trouble with on the handbag was the silk lining wearing out while the bag was still good.

The Dinky, Willis, Duffle, Bucket, City, Rambler, Watermelon,
large tote and my favorite=Stewardess bag.
I still carry them today.
I have so many they haven’t really worn out.
Haven't purchased a purse in over 30+yrs.
WOW! Would love to see your collection!

Saw her show last night and there was a beautiful made by hand burgundy one but it looked to be very heavy to me.

Lots of detail to this Michael Kors bag; just lovely! Dillards and on clearance.
