@Allthingsgirly67 I feel the opposite.  A lot of goldtone looks cheap to me.

I mostly wear silver & white gold jewelry since I have a cool undertone (complexion) so I stay away from warm colors and yellow gold.  I like the hardware of my bags to coordinate with my jewelry.

One of my favorite brands of bags are Brighton.  They use silver and it coordinates with their jewelry.

For me a dealbreaker is no outside pockets.

Deal breakers for me are black interior, no outside pockets, and the handbag must have a crossbody strap.

I need a outside pocket for my phone.  Easy to grab. Also a light color lining so I can see things.

I like leather handbags.  So many now have vegan/plastic handles.

Why not make a handbag 100% leather, body and handle.  The extra leather on the handle/shoulder strap would not be much more.

That's the dealbreaker for me.

Re: What is a dealbreaker for you when it comes to handbags?

I don't care for a lot of pockets, and I don't like exterior pockets at all.  I am a satchel girl but I do like the optional shoulder strap sometimes.  No to cross body bags.

If there is metal hardware I prefer it be minimal.  I like silver, or that shade of gold that is barely gold.

Also, anytime I buy a bag that is on the smaller side with the hope that it will be large enough (because I like it so much), it's a mission failure.  Never works out.

I don't have a lot of deal breakers as far as purses go. But I probably wouldn't use a huge or tiny bag. I purchased a Michael Kors crossbody bag but don't use it because there's no depth and I can't put much in it. Hardware is not revenant, to me they all look nice in their own way.

1.  A center zip compartment is a deal breaker for me.  I have been known to cut them out.

2.  A bag that does not stand up on its own.

3.  Plastic, faux, vegan.  Ugh.  I will not buy a plastic purse.  It's leather or fabric for me.

4.  Handles that are not long enough to go over my shoulder.  I am now using a Patricia Nash bag that I really like except that the handles are just a bit too short.  It's aggravating, but I really like the bag and spent too much for it.  I should have known better.

Don't like logo initial or signature fabrics and printed fabrics. I prefer a solid color handbag. Works better if I'm wearing a printed clothing piece.

Exterior decorative frills, "bells and whistles" - I prefer simple streamlined styles.

Large heavy bags - Since retiring I don't carry that much so there's no need.

Double straps and/or short handles - not practical for me

Slouchy styles - prefer structure, easier to find things

I'll  no longer carry or wear anything that was trapped/skinned/killed for my benefit.
