Re: What is a dealbreaker for you when it comes to handbags?

Snap closures.  I want zip closures on all my bags,   Also don't like silver hardware.... prefer gold.

I have many but the key is a too small zipper opening. I don't like to slice my hands or have to work to get something in and out of a bag. Among other things I also dislike busy, loud or garish color linings. I also want a hand held option.

Size -  large size but not ridiculous

Shoulder strap long enough to accomodate coats

Outside pocket - being a city dweller, always need a transit pass handy

Do not like a separate zipped compartment in the middle of the bag dividing it in half, but honestly not a dealbreaker; I do have a couple of these

Light lining certainly a plus

I bought what will be my last large, heavy bag at least 5 years ago, maybe more.

I like the looks of some of them, but I can't tolerate the weight and the style of most of them is far more business than my life is at this time.

Good question! A handbag/purse without a zipper closure is my #1 dealbreaker.

Also, brass/gold hardware, no pockets on the outside.

If it has the designer's name boldly posted on front, I'm out.

I don't like big bags. I only want small crossbodies, no totes, satchels etc. (6x9 is pretty much my limit) smaller if done right.

No double straps, I only want one strap and no guitar straps and no chains

If it doesn't have a secure closure it's a no go, so no magnets etc

I don't want the brand name plastered all over the bag or a color that screams look at me.

Must be lightweight

Only want real leather, no cloth or vegan or pleather.

Boy am I picky or what.

I will take a long shot guess, after reading previous posts, women want their "metal" trims on bags to match their jewelry and any metal trims on their outfit/coat.

i'd have to say that this would be me...and I wear silver or gunmetal.

Perhaps manufacturers might want to keep this in mind.

'For my lifestyle at this point, I am not looking for necessarily fashionable additions to my outfits, but instead bags that make my life more streamlined.  But that's just my take.
