We plan on traveling end of September to Europe.   On my last trip as some of you may have read my handbag was stolen in Madrid.

So I need a new one and I want it to be demure but functional.

It had to have a center zip and be a tote.  (I will pack a small evening bag in my suitcase and also a small Coach I have for handsfree sightseeing.  This will be for airports, casual dinners, and times we will be in the car where I can have access to more stuff. lol.

There were two colors of this tote.  One is the "new ivory" and the other is a "bay gray".  I chose the ivory.  I liked the gray on the picture but think it will be much darker in person.  (as will the ivory which will be good - I do not care for dark colors)

I have time and so can always return but this is a nice size.  About 14" long, depth about 5". handle drop. 10.4"

I would appreciate all the handbag lady experts and opinions on this bag.  Oh, the price is $448.00.  It get's excellent reviews as well.

Here is the "bay gray" - yeah it looks nice on the picture but don't believe it in person.  I can also show you the inside of the bag with "bay gray".  Ivory the same.  

On second thought maybe I should have ordered them both for comparison. ........

Those look like beautiful bags and that they'll be good for travel.  I also like a tote for traveling and I have a couple but my favorite one is an Anushka available on HSN.

They are hand painted leather and they are beautiful and functional.   They are about half the price but I can see why you like these, they are just a bit out of my price range.

Thanks for your input @LindaSal .  I too think totes are good for travel.  You can whip out that 3 oz bag they allow for toiletries in a flash.

I'll see it and the color when it arrives in a few days.

I did get the Tory Burch tote.  It's a very pretty tote including the color (no yellow).  I just felt it too open even with the zip top center for my taste and needs.  I have returned it.

The search continued and I decided on a bag I've always wanted which is made in Italy.  "Mansur Gavriel".  He's really known for his totes and for the price of $545.00 being made in Italy is pretty good in my opinion,

I picked a darker beige, a neutral for everything.  This is a zippered tote which I'm very happy about and wanted all along.  I think it's a bit more elegant as well.

We shall see - here's some pictures - I think the true bag shade will be a touch lighter.  It is a saffiano sort of leather which is right up my alley.

Does anyone own a Mansur Gavriel?

PS.  On the pictures you can also see the difference in handles between the Tory Burch and Mansur Gavriel.  Different quality.
